This Week at Windsor 3.19.2021
Teachers make a difference at any distance...
Windsor Families,
Happy Spring Break, I hope you have a relaxing week off! There are a lot of important pieces of information in this week's newsletter such as changes to the Food Distribution times and 5Essentials survey for parents, so be sure to check it all out!
Reminder - Care of Devices/Spring Break
As we head into spring break, we wanted to remind families and students that district-issued technology devices are for school purposes. These devices should be stored over break unless students need to complete schoolwork. We want to make sure devices are taken care of and ready for school when we return so please do not bring them on trips over the break. This is a good time for the devices to be updated, restarted, and charged to be ready for school. Thank you for your support regarding student devices.
April 6th - Elections
Windsor will be a voting site for the April 6th Elections. Voting will take place in the gym. The students will have PE in their classrooms on this day, we will also have indoor recess for all.
Spring Break Travel Guidance
The Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH) has updated its travel guidance (linked here). You do not need to provide any travel documentation to District 25, but we wanted to share the basic changes with everyone.
- Anyone traveling from a state on the Orange list (link above) is directed to obtain a negative COVID-19 test result no more than 72 hours prior to arrival in suburban Cook County (you could also do this after you return) or quarantine for a 10-day period.
- NEW (3/15/21) - Children under the age of 18 are not exempt from the travel order and must follow pre-arrival testing/quarantine requirements.
- NEW (3/15/21) - Unvaccinated children traveling with fully vaccinated people are not exempt from the travel order and must follow pre-arrival testing/quarantine requirements.
It is important that our parent community stays informed, especially as conditions surrounding the coronavirus pandemic continue to change. Information about COVID-19 and how it impacts District 25’s school plans for 2020-2021 is fluid and therefore will be continually evaluated and updated in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
Enjoy your spring break and stay well,
Mrs. Anastacio and Mrs. Soprano

Notes from the Health Office...
Hi Parents!
Travel Reminders
Please review the updated guidelines for both domestic and international travel.
Please visit this website for current guidelines for international travel:
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/map-and-travel-notices.html
Please visit this website for current guidelines for domestic travel:
https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/sites/covid-19/home/emergency-travel-order.html
CCDPH guidance is consistent with the City of Chicago’s Travel Order to reduce confusion among people living and working in Cook County. As always, if you or your child are exhibiting any of the COVID-19 symptoms, or have been exposed to a positive case or a suspected case while travelling, do not come to school/send your child to school and contact your school’s nurse.
Please note, District 25 will not be monitoring our students and our staff’s travel over Spring Break. We simply ask that families follow the guidelines listed above and linked above. Travel guidelines are updated regularly, and it is important that you check the above links prior to your travel.
Thank you again for partnering with us to continue to keep Windsor School a safe place for everyone!
Sincerely,
Darlene Carpenter, RN
Windsor School Nurse

5Essentials
Parents, students, and teachers across Illinois will have an opportunity to participate in the ninth annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of Windsor School. As a parent, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about your child’s school.
On behalf of the Illinois State Board of Education, the Illinois 5Essentials Survey will be administered online by UChicago Impact at the University of Chicago. The survey gathers data related to five indicators that can predict important student outcomes, including improved attendance and larger test score gains. These five indicators that affect and predict school success are:
· Effective Leaders
· Collaborative Teachers
· Involved Families
· Supportive Environments
· Ambitious Instruction
Additionally, we have chosen to provide the Parent Supplement survey. If at least 20 percent of Windsor parents complete this survey, a parent supplement report will also be generated.
Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at Windsor School and guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.
Please take few minutes to complete the survey linked below. The survey window will close on April 2, 2021.

Get Burbed
Get ready for the 10th Annual ABC/25 GetBurbed Challenge on April 24, 2021!
Our event this year will consist of an In-Person 1 Mile Run along with a Virtual 1 Mile and 5K! While our goal was to have students, families, teachers, staff and community all back for a full in-person event this year, we are unable to do so according to IDPH guidelines for this type of event. Safety is our top priority, we are excited that we are able transition our 1 Mile event back to in person.
Please visit this link, www.raceroster.com/44529, for full details and guidelines and to REGISTER for both the in-person 1 Mile and virtual events.
We also have a really fun contest planned for all participants with PRIZES!
Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for all the current updates!
