Knightly News
Trivium Academy Weekly Newsletter
Dear Parents,
We had a terrific start to the new year. Many thanks to Christina Buehlman, Michelle Scowden, Stacy Best, Erica Tuscano, and their children for making the building look fresh and fun to welcome our students.
We loved greeting our Knights and getting them settled in their new classrooms. Carpool is running smoothly, and our teachers and volunteers have managed to avoid heat stroke! Thank you all for being patient and for following the rules. Those of you who are still turning left at the light need to know that you allow the traffic to back up. The extra few minutes you save by turning left has a huge impact on our traffic flow. We also ask that you make sure your children are ready to exit the car when we come to get them out of your cars in the morning. While waiting in the line, have them grab their belongings and be ready to hop out.
Trivium is blooming with activities, learning, and fun. We are grateful to have you all back and look forward to a SUPER year. Get ready for our first Spirit Night at Urban Eight on September 5th. These are the best evenings when we have a chance to enjoy our families and have a great dinner.
We hope you like the weekly newsletter you are receiving. Karla Bell is working hard to keep everyone informed. If you have anything to add, please let us know.
We thank you for your support and we love having our children back in the building!
Best wishes,
Marsha Cawthon

Teaching History: This is my 28th year in education. I was in Plano ISD for the last 22 years. Before coming to Texas, I taught in Arkansas. I came to Plano and began my teaching career as an elementary teacher at Wells, Centennial, and then Hughston teaching 3-5th grades. I moved to Haggard Middle School where I was an English and history teacher before becoming the Instructional Specialist. I was an assistant principal in Plano before coming to Trivium. I am excited to be part of the Trivium Academy community and look forward to getting to know all the staff and families.
Family: My family and I live in Allen. I have one son, Robert who is a third grader here at Trivium.
Interests/Hobbies Outside of School: My son and I love to travel. We also love exploring the outdoors and camping. I love to spend time reading and shopping, when time permits.

Please remember to turn right at the Providence light. When the line gets held up for someone waiting to turn left, it creates a massive domino effect.

Who we are?
Christina Buehlman is the proud mother of Brooklyn who is in 4th grade and Britton who is in 2nd grade. Their family lives in The Colony and they are proud to be original Knights.
Michelle Scowden’s family are also original Knights. Their family resides in Prosper. Her daughters Ellie, 7th grade, Addie 4th grade and Isabella 3rd grade love being part of the Trivium family!
What we do?
Fundraising chairs Christina Buehlman and Michelle Scowden have worked together over the last 3 years. Together they have helped raise funds through spirit nights, the annual online silent auction and community partners such as Box Tops for Education, Amazon Smile and Kroger. With your help our fundraising efforts were able to repair the gym floor, provide Momentous Institute tools which provide emotional support to each of our classrooms as well as other enrichment initiatives.
Michelle says “We are always open to your suggestions on new spirit night venues, auction items and any fundraising ideas to help raise money for our school.”
Christina added “I was initially intimidated about joining the fundraising committee, but it has been rewarding to see the support of our families and our community generously coming together to support our cause.”
The dynamic duo would love to invite you to join their committee and team up with them in planning some new and exciting events this year.
Save the date for our first Spirit night of the school year! Join us at Urban8 for our karaoke themed Back to School Bash on Thursday, September 5th from 3-10pm. We can’t wait to see you all there!
