Wiggin Street Parent Update
October 9, 2023
Better Together
Families,
Spirit week started with students rolling in in their pajamas. It then continued with jersey day, Wiggin Street spirit wear day, hat day, and finally orange and black day on Friday's picture day. All of this led up to a Pep Rally with MVHS cheerleaders, athletes, band, and Homecoming Court. Some students were chosen to play a game of 'Head, Knees, Shoulders, Cone' and Atti Baawine had an exciting victory. Whew! What a week, but the kids had a blast! The best part for teachers was hearing the many Wiggin Street Alumni from MVHS share what they are doing now and expressing their love for their former elementary school. Check out the many pictures and videos from the week!
We have our first PBIS Reward Event coming up on the 19th. Our 5th grade video team has been working hard to create videos to announce important events. Eleanor Cramer and Eleanor Goodwin put their acting skills to good use on the video below to share about the event. Also, you will see in the Spirit Wear pictures that Jack Jenkins and Keaton Newell actively covered the event. Their video will be shared in the next update.
Special thanks to Mrs. Springer for preparing our 3rd grade students to sing at the Johnny Appleseed Festival on Friday evening. Also, thank you to our 3rd grade teachers for their support and help at the event. We are so proud of the students, and they looked like they were having a blast singing the fun songs that Mrs. Springer taught them!
Lastly, there is another opportunity to volunteer coming up! Our Scholastic Book Fair is during Parent/Teacher Conferences in November. Look for the link to sign up below the PTO Corner section of this update.
Have a great weekend,

Morning Drop Off Safety Reminder
For those dropping off students in the morning, please do not get out of your vehicle. If your student needs assistance getting out of the vehicle, please pull off to the right side and walk them safely to the sidewalk.
Also, students are to walk in front of their car when exiting from the passenger side, so parents can watch for them. For this reason, please do not back up to go around a car. If you leave plenty of space between cars, you can go around if needed.
