Growing up, I can remember rushing to the driveway to get the Sunday paper because I absolutely loved the comics. One of my favorites, which I have laminated, is a Calvin and Hobbes comic strip from December 31, 1995. It's a special one because it is one of the very last Calvin and Hobbes art comic strip to be published, and I remember thinking how important the message was. encourage you to take out some "big white sheets of paper" and talk to your children about goals for the upcoming year. Section off the paper into folded sections-Kindness Goals, Student Goals, Physical Fitness Goals, etc. As you look toward the New Year, I hope you embrace the year of possibilities and do amazing things on your 'big white sheet of paper'.

Enjoy the holiday season with your family, and I look forward to seeing all our students back on Thursday, January 5, 2023! I am truly blessed to serve this wonderful community!

The media festival is open to all students in GCPS and celebrates the talents and visions of student digital media producers. Projects are accepted in the following categories: animation, interactive stills, live action, podcast, website, and sequential stills. Parent information regarding Georgia Milestones testing that will take place in the Spring, has been posted to GCPS Website. The GMAS will be given to students in grades 3rd-5th from 04/24/23 to 05/05/23. Parent Flyers have been posted and can also be found below.

Each Wednesday morning our Robotics Club gets together to complete missions where they must code the robot to navigate a sequence of events. Using their knowledge of angles this year's missions require them to code the robot to move in particular sequences as they navigate through space. Our Robotics Club is led by Ms. Down, Ms. Isom-Jones, and Ms. Davis.

We have a variety of shelf-stable pantry items, hygiene products, and some clothing available. We will also have 5 produce boxes available for pick-up before Winter Break. Families are welcome to shop the CARE Closet, or we can prepare bags for them. Our office is happy to have these ready for pick-up or drop-off at a family's residence or a discrete location.

In partnership with the Gwinnett County Public Library (GCPL), GCPS provides Tutor.com as an online tutoring resource for students. The expert tutors at Tutor.com can help your student work through a tough homework problem, improve writing skills, study for a test, review a difficult concept, and so much more! Live tutoring support is available daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. In addition, students can receive “drop-off support,” 24-7, by uploading a document for tutor feedback that will be reviewed and returned at a later time. If your child is interested in joining Coding Club, please complete the following application by January 3, 2023. The top portion of the application should be completed by the parent. The second section should be completed by the student.
