Welcome to a New Week!

Hi GIS Community,


It's hard to believe that this is my last newsletter to you for 2022! It's been a great first half of the year. I can't tell you how much I've learned, how impressed and blown away I am by our teachers and staff, how many families I've gotten to know, and most importantly, how much your kiddos mean to me. The hugs, high-fives, lunch bunches, invites into classrooms, talking through hard things, and hearing Mrs. H in the hallway makes me smile ear-to-ear.


I love being a part of this community and feel grateful that I've been given this chance. Here's to an even brighter 2023!


This week is full of fun! We have our Golden Paw Award Ceremony, a school-wide celebration, and our first ski and-ride trip. I'm pretty excited we got a good covering of snow! It's going to be a super week!


I wish you a happy and healthy holiday season and a fantastic start to the New Year. We will see you all on January 3rd, 2023! (after this week, of course!)

After school program will be closed on Thursday, 12/22 & Friday, 12/23


There will be full-day programming on Tuesday, December 27 & Wednesday, December 28, 8 am-3 pm.

An email went out this morning with last-minute ski and ride info. Please reach out with any questions!

Basketball Schedule

In French class, students have been playing French trivia/finger soccer in anticipation of Sunday's World Cup final.

If you are interested in donating snacks to classrooms. Please connect with your student('s) classroom teacher(s). We're always thankful for these donations!
Our Grand Isle School Store
The PTA has worked with a vendor to provide us with a school store so that families can order Grand Isle School gear!

Lost and Found

We have a large collection of sweatshirts, pants, shirts, jackets, water bottles, and some lunch boxes. If you're coming into school for pickup or drop-off, please swing by and see if anything belongs to your kiddo!
