KOVALESKI'S KEYNOTE
(Video Note: The Holy Moments videos shared each week are titled using the prompt from the week before as they "recap" the previous week's prompt and introduce us to the new prompt for the upcoming week.)
In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it's easy to overlook the simple act of gratitude. However,
taking the time to say "thank you" can have a profound impact on both the giver and receiver. In
fact, it can even create a Holy Moment.
There are many reasons why saying thank you is important:
- It makes others feel good. When we take the time to express our appreciation, it shows the
other person that we care about them and value their efforts. This can boost their self-esteem
and make them feel happier and more connected to others.
- It can improve our relationships. Saying "thank you" can help to strengthen relationships with
family, friends, and even strangers. It builds trust and creates a sense of community.
- It can make us feel happier. When we focus on the good things in our lives, we are more likely
to experience positive emotions.
When we say thank you with sincerity, we open ourselves up to experiencing the joy of gratitude
and the connection of shared understanding. We also give the other person a gift that is priceless
– the gift of being seen and appreciated.
So take the time this week to say "thank you" to someone. You never know what Holy Moment you
might create. And remember, some moments are holy, some moments are unholy. And you get to
decide!
We want to hear about the amazing ways you and your family are collaborating with God! Email
Meghan Gorzalski at mgorzalski@waukeshacatholic.org and tell us about a special Holy Moment
you witnessed or created. Let’s keep the Holy Momentum going!
Other Updates/Reminders/Acknowledgements:
Food Drive: Another way we can create Holy Moments is by stocking the food pantries of the
Catholic Community of Waukesha. The donations to the parish food pantries this year have been
very low, and they desperately need inventory. The items most needed by the pantries are listed in
the "Food Drive" section below. They need our help! Please consider ENCOUNTERING CHRIST IN
HOLY MOMENTS by donating to the food pantries to help those most in need during the upcoming
holidays and winter months.
Long-Term Substitute Needed: Waukesha Catholic is seeking a Kindergarten (K5) long-term
substitute teacher. The teacher will plan and provide quality instruction to Kindergarten students
while supporting the vision and mission of Waukesha Catholic. The position will begin in early
January 2024 and conclude at the end of March. If you or anyone you know may be interested in
this position, please refer them to the job posting at the following link:
https://www.archmil.org/Jobs-2.0/Long-Term-Substitute--Kindergarten.htm
