First Day Back 2021 - Tuesday 1 February
We love our new way of strengthening our home-school partnership.
We start this off with a “Learning Transition Partnership Day” which will be Tuesday1 February.
On this day we will be having 15 minute slots with each student and family in their homeroom class.
This time slot is about informing the 2021 teacher of anything they will need to know about your child, socially, wellbeing, learning difficulties, or special talents and skills they may have. We will learn about your child’s and family’s strengths and ideas you may have to contribute to learning opportunities at school.
Our teachers will be focussed on each family, listening and planning for a successful 2022. We encourage all families to attend, even if you or your child knows their 2022 teacher. Our feedback from 2021has highlighted that this is a fantastic opportunity to have a positive transition into our new school year. We look forward to seeing you.
Further information on how to book will be available next week.
New Student Management System Edge Mobile App
This week we have started using a new Student Management System called 'Edge'. The Edge App has some amazing functions. Some of these functions will not be available until 2022 and we will keep you posted when these can be accessed. In the meantime, please download the app and begin by sending all student absences through the app. Please also delete the "School App" as we will no longer be using this. Any queries, please pop in to the school office or email office@inglewood.school.nz.

Surf lessons for kids and teens!
My name is Karine Bödeker and I offer surf lessons for kids and teens at Fitzroy beach. I am a certified level 1 ISA surf coach and owner of New Plymouth Surf School.
Surfing is a great way for kids to learn about the ocean and gain new skills. Children from 7 years old can learn how to surf in a safe and fun way. For the kids surf groups, there is one instructor per 4 or 5 children, depending on the conditions. Therefore I am able to provide personal coaching for every little surfer. The kids surf lessons are always held in the white water waves, close to the beach. My goal is to make your kids happy and introduce them to surfing in a safe way. The lesson is approx. 1 hour water time and it takes almost 1,5 hours in total. Wetsuit and surfboard are included. Cost: $45 per person per lesson. Location: Fitzroy beach.
To book a lesson, please get in touch with Karine Bödeker 0273075842, newplymouthsurfschool@gmail.com
