Forms
It is very important that you complete and return ANY and ALL forms that have been sent home, especially the emergency contact information. Please ensure that happens as soon as possible. You can send the forms back to school in your child's home/school communication folder.
School Hours:
K-6 9:00-3:30
Pre-K 9:15-3:15
Please try to adhere to these times. If your child is in the upper grades and you are coming half hour early, every day, they will miss quite a bit of instruction as we are teaching up to the end of the day in grades 4-6. Our dismissal this year has been very efficient, so please arrive at the designated time.
Also, please note, that district policy prevents us from releasing students to parents/relations who appear impaired due to drugs or alcohol. If you, or a designated adult, looks impaired, or I can smell alcohol or pot on them, I am required to keep that child in my care and call the police to evaluate the driver's ability to safely transport the child. We did have a few instances last year where I had to hang onto students. Please remember that driving while impaired is not allowed by law, and we are mandated reporters. I would rather avoid a situation such as this altogether, so please communicate this information to anyone who is on your pickup list and could be responsible for transporting our child.
Covid Updates:
You should have received a permission slip to Covid test your child here at school. Please take a look at it and send it back. The test is our basic shallow swab test that goes right around the inside of each nostril. The kids can usually do the swabbing themselves. If you child is symptomatic in school, and we have your permission, we can do a quick Covid test here, which will save you some time. The quarantine time for a positive Covid test is the same: 5 days out of school, and then 5 days masked at school when they are well enough to return.
Band & Orchestra
If your child is interested in playing an instrument, please make sure you fill out and return the form to Mrs. Pitnell when it arrives home. Be on the lookout for it.
Uniforms
We are a uniform school. Many of our students have started the year off strong, wearing a uniform every day. If you need help getting uniforms, please contact the main office (585-288-8008) or your child's teacher. We have many gently used, clean uniforms here that we can send home in your child's backpack. Our uniform is khaki/navy bottoms, and white/light blue/dark blue top. Uniforms are easy to find at Old Navy, Target, and Walmart this time of year. But, again, if you need some gently used uniforms, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are happy to help.
OPEN HOUSE
Mark your calendars: Open House is on October 5th, from 5:00-7:00 PM this year.
