Fall Spirit Week Oct. 24-28
Get ready for Holy Name's Fall Spirit Week!
Monday is Twin Day; dress the same as a friend or dress up like famous duos
Tuesday is a throwback to the plaid uniforms that Holy Name Giants used to wear, so rock your favorite plaid clothing for Plaid Day.
Wednesday is Board Game Day, so come to school as your favorite game or board game character.
Thursday is Hero Day; dress like your hero (Saint, public safety, Mom or Dad).
Friday is the day to show off your Holy Name spirit by wearing blue and gold.
The week will end with a 7th vs. 8th kickball game and pep rally.
In honor of Respect Life, we will collect donations for the Hendricks Hospital Maternity Ward.
Last year, 117 families that experienced the loss of a baby through miscarriage or neonatal death were supported by the Infant Bereavement Program at Hendricks Regional Health Hospital in Danville, IN. These families were able to receive molds of their babies’ hands and feet, photographs, christening gowns, keepsake boxes, and other priceless mementos. When you are a parent who does not get to bring a child home, these mementos provide the closest tangible item you can get to your angel baby and mean so much.
We would like to respect the smallest and most precious lives by having a CRAFT DRIVE for the Infant Bereavement Room at Hendricks Regional Health so they can continue to support the families of infants who are taken too soon. Below is a list of items needed for the Bereavement Room. If you can please find it in your heart to donate, you are making a huge impact on the lives of bereaved families.
3x3 and 4x4 keepsake boxes
hot glue gun glue sticks
double sided tape
light yellow, light green, and light pink cardstock
sewing string
small stuffed teddy bears, lambs, etc. to be placed in the crib with baby
Day of the Dead
Students are invited to bring in a photo of someone dear to them who has died. This can be a relative, family pet, a grandparent, friend, or anyone who was special to your family. Please know that this holiday is a celebration of life and not associated with Halloween, ghosts, or anything scary! Photos can be turned in to their homeroom teacher by Wednesday, October 26th. These will be placed on our school-wide ofrenda (altar-like table) in honor of Día de los Muertos to remember loved ones who have died and to help support their spiritual journey.
