At the Board of Education meeting on Monday, November 9, the Board approved a COVID-19 saliva-based surveillance screening agreement with SafeGuard Surveillance,LLC. Information will be shared about the COVID-19 screening plans in District 41 during an Information Session Live Stream on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16 at 6:30 P.M. During this session, a panel of representatives will provide detailed information about the screening process as well as the process for giving consent.
The screening program has several goals, including:
Reducing school closures and quarantines and allowing for more in-person instruction.
Identifying potential cases of COVID-19 in the school population early, reducing transmission.
Driving down overall rates in our community by alerting those who may need to quarantine before they show symptoms.
