Week of September 29-October 2
It was awesome to see our students and families during student material pick up
Do you want to help with Arrowhead Announcements?
We are interested in having our students participate in our morning announcements. We created a flipgrid topic link so students can record themselves making announcements. They can say the pledge allegiance, the Arrowhead School pledge or tell a joke. This is completely optional. If you allow your child to create a flipgrid video, this will provide the consent for the video to be shared during our morning announcements. Again, this is an optional activity and it will only be shared with your agreement. If you are interested in creating a flipgrid video, please click on the flipgrid link https://flipgrid.com/e75120f3

Mrs. Cohen’s Counselor’s Corner
Happy Friday, Arrowhead Families! Change is coming! Starting with our first day of WIN on Wednesday, October 7, I will be sending a counseling lesson link to all of our students. While these weekly counseling lessons are not mandatory, my hope is that our students will view and enjoy them, as well as share with you what they learned.
As an educator and a parent of little ones, this came across my desk and grabbed my interest. There is a FREE, inclusive conference for mindful parents and professionals working with or raising young children with the goal of sharing and learning about raising resilient, connected children. This year’s conference, entitled “Raising Resilient Kids in an Anxious World”, will be held online from October 5 – 9 and will consist of over 25 presenters who will teach about such things as setting healthy boundaries, managing big feelings, advocating for racial justice, talking about the gender spectrum, nurturing friendships, talking about sex, and much, much more. Each day of the conference, there will be five video presentations, and you will be able to view all five videos for 24 hours. You can watch all of them or just the ones of particular interest to you. I registered to attend this virtual conference, and I hope you do, too! Here’s the link to register for free: https://conference.happilyfamily.com/?orid=42021&opid=21

Message from Nurse Kelly
Give Kids Sight Day is an annual event.
Pandemic? Well, yes, that’s a new challenge.
But where there’s a Wills, there’s a way.
With safety foremost in everyone’s minds, the Sight Day community is busy at work designing the best possible event to help as many children as we can.
Wills Eye Hospital is adapting their telehealth services for Sight Day to provide a “Telehealth-a-thon” for initial vision screenings. Instead of hundreds of families lined up around the block, PCCY will mail out eye charts to homes, and remote screeners will guide parents how to set up the chart at the appropriate distance and conduct vision screenings.
