Contest Date: July 6th at 6pm

Registration Deadline: June 30th

The Davison County Public Presentation Contest is open to all 4-Hers! Please use the google form below to register by June 30th!


All rules found in the Communication Project handbook will be followed (with the exception of Cloverbud specific rules found below).


Cloverbuds are welcome to participate with the following rules:


  • Cloverbuds will have a 2 minute presentation minimum and can compete in any of the categories


Remember: for Cloverbuds it is intended to just be a FUN experience to provide an opportunity to try somethig new! Cloverbuds are not scored but will receive a ribbon for participating!

Contest Date: July 24th, 6pm

Registration Deadline: July 19th

The Davison County Fashion Revue Contest is open to all 4-Hers! Please use the google form below to register by July 19th!


Any Constructed outfits will need to bring a sample of the fabric used and all garments will need a picture or sketch brought to the contest or turned into the office prior.


Remember: for Cloverbuds it is intended to just be a FUN experience to provide an opportunity to try somethig new! Cloverbuds are not scored but will receive a ribbon for participating!

Animal Skill-a-thon Workshop

Come learn about the animal Livestock Skill-a-thon opportunities! Poultry, Dairy, Rabbit, Livestock, and Dog will be included! Youth do not need to complete every station, but all will be available!


No cost, but registration is required by July 7th!

Event Information

Livestock Judging Workshop

Quinton Berg, Hanson County 4-H member, will be hosting a livestock judging clinic as his senior project for school! Topics covered will include introduction to judging sheep, goats, swine, and cattle, introduction to the use of performance data, and livestock skill-a-thon activities. This is open to 4-H beginners and juniors or individuals wanting to learn the basics of livestock judging.


The event will be held on July 18th, registration begins at 5:30pm. Deadline to register is July 11th. Follow the link below to sign up and help share the word!

CDM/Horticulture; July 11th, 1pm-5pm; Davison County Office

Consumer Decision Making and Horticulture Skill-a-thon stations will be set up throughout the day. Members can come-and-go and complete the stations anytime throughout the day!

Event Date: July 31st-August 2nd

Registration Deadline: July 21st

The Davison County Achievement Days is open to all 4-Hers! All exhibits must be entered into FairEntry by July 21st at 11:59pm


Please see the SD State Fair Book for all rules and regulations. The Davison County Contestant Packet (attached below soon-once it has been finalized).


Cloverbuds are permitted to exhibit display projects in all categories and do not need to enter projects into FairEntry. They are also welcome and encouraged to interview judge with their projects. Cloverbuds are also permitted to show non-hooved animals (rabbit, poultry, companion animal, dog) so long as they have followed all animal requirements including health affidavits and required testing. The cloverbud class will be at the conclusion of the corresponding animal show so that cloverbuds can watch and learn from older youth participants. Any animals being shown by cloverbuds will NOT enroll in FairEntry but must notify the office of their intent to participate by the registration deadline.
