It's May! - We have made it to that ever popular and frantic last month of the school year. This is the month of spring concerts, graduations, award ceremonies, and for some preparations for next year. This will be the last installment of the LLMEA newsletter and we hope that you have had a musically rewarding school year. With the conclusion of the middle school chorus festival this past weekend, we can call it a wrap for LLMEA festivals this year. All of our county festivals were huge successes and provided our Lancaster-Lebanon music students with great experiences. Thank you to all of our hosts and host schools.

Good luck as we push through the last few busy weeks and have a restful and relaxing summer!

On April 18th, we celebrated our outstanding senior music students at the Eden Resort in Lancaster. This was the first LLMEA Banquet in four years. Former Warwick music teacher, Todd Fulginiti, along with his daughter Bailey and Tom Herr entertained the crowd during dinner. Along with our seniors, we honored all of our retiring music teachers, our private music teachers of the year, and our LLMEA teacher of the year, Lauren Ciemienwicz from Penn Manor. Thanks to Ann Ahlers and Matt Tenaglia from Warwick for coordinating this event.

Thanks to Alicia Trescavage and the Pequea Valley school district for hosting the inaugural LLMEA middle school chorus festival. Approximately 85 middle school students took part in the festival and did a fantastic job. Congratulations to all!

Thank you to our LLMEA membership for a successful and musical year! Bringing back our fests and festivals following a global pandemic is a true accomplishment and so appreciated by the students and their families. Thank you for your hard work and for allowing me to serve this academic year as your President. It’s an honor and privilege to be your colleague. Best wishes as you wrap up the year and take those final curtain calls. Enjoy your summer “break” and I look forward to seeing what’s in store for all of us in 2023-2024!
