This year Rodgers Elementary is getting into the fall spirit by having a pumpkin decorating contest of your favorite book character.

Pumpkins can be dropped off in the library by Monday, October 15. The pumpkins will be on display during the Fall Scholastic Book Fair. A $5 book fair certificate will be awarded to one winning student in each grade level.

After book fair the pumpkins will be on display in the library until October 29th or they start to get stinky.

**All Staff members may participate!

· You may use pumpkins or gourds or both to create your project.

· Absolutely no carved entries.

· To decorate you can use paper, glue, paint, markers, pipe cleaners, fabric, or other craft items on the pumpkin. BE CREATIVE!

· Projects must represent a book character.

· On the entry form available in the library write the title and author of the book. Bring the book or a picture of the book cover to display with your pumpkins/gourds. (Let Mrs. Speed know if you need a book for display)

· Bring pumpkins to the library by Monday, October 15.

· Pumpkins will be on display in the library during book fair and the following week.

Judges will vote on Monday October 15 after school. Winners will be announced Tuesday, October 16th. A $5 book fair certificate will be awarded to one winning student in each grade level.
