Message from Principal Blagg
Dear Parker Community:
As we head into the Thanksgiving break it seems appropriate to express my sincere gratitude for being a small part of this special community. The first three months of school were incredible. The students and their families were asked to form a new school community, meet new friends, and adapt to a new school and schedule. I know that there have been some growing pains in this transition, but I am so proud of the resilience, enthusiasm, and good will demonstrated by our kids. The students are so enthusiastic in any endeavor we embark on as a school whether it be a team spirit day, a cancer fundraiser, or dressing up for Halloween. There is also quite a transition in expectations from elementary to middle school and I feel students are adapting to the new expectations quite well. We want to continue to stress the connection between dedicated hard work and success. Students will encounter difficulty and frustration. We endeavor to stress that this difficulty is an opportunity for growth and that perseverance is critical to success. I truly appreciate our parents supporting these ideals. I hope that the coming Thanksgiving break brings food, family, friends, and love to you all.
PRIDE Awards
Today we issued PRIDE Awards to deserving students. The PRIDE Awards will be given out each marking term to deserving students who demonstrate one or more of our PRIDE values in an exceptional manner: Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Empathy. Staff members nominate the deserving student and write a short description describing the reason for the nomination. As I told the students today, there are many students who have also demonstrated our PRIDE values who were not honored this term. This is not a negative reflection on them but rather a celebration of those nominated by our staff. I encouraged all our students to continue to practice these values and be good citizens. We will award our next round of PRIDE Awards in late January. Please see the list of our award winners and pictures below.

WINTER IS COMING!
Reminder to Parker Families - BRRR!!! Cold weather is rolling in....Parker students will still be going outside for recess/outside break. Please remember to BUNDLE UP, warm coats, hats and gloves are recommended.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS & ACTIVITIES & LATE BUSES
Our after-school programs will start on Tuesday, October 17th. The Activity Fee is $50 per student. PLEASE CLICK ON LINK My School Bucks or send in cash or check made payable to Chelmsford Public Schools and turn into your child's homeroom teacher. The activity fee allows students to take full advantage of any clubs they wish to attend. The after-school activities run from 2:40-3:40 on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday throughout the year. Students also have the option of taking a late bus home. The routes are posted in the school and will not be posted publicly. We will work with students and the drivers to be sure students take the correct bus home. Since we only have 8 late buses, for both McCarthy and Parker the stops tend to be more spread out than the “regular” bus runs. After activities, students who are not taking a bus will exit the school into the Crooked Spring Road lot and can be picked up there.
