Procedures for the Safety of our Students
The safety of our students and your child(ren) is of great importance to the Souderton Area School District and Salford Hills Elementary. The purpose of this message is to notify parents of some of the procedures that have been established to maintain the safety of children at our school.
Picking Up a Child at the End of the School Day
Parents picking-up their child(ren) at the end of the school day must send a note to school with their child(ren). This note must indicate the name of the adult that you are authorizing to pick-up your child(ren). The child’s name, along with the name of the adult authorized to pick-up your child(ren), is then added to our parent pick-up list for that particular day. Parents, or other adults that you have authorized to pick-up your child(ren), are required to drive around to the playground pick-up zone (different than the main entrance) with a valid ID. Your child(ren) will only be released to the person that you have authorized in the note. For a consistent pick-up schedule, please use the electronic pick-up form located in the Wednesday Message or contact our Main Office for the link.
Bus Passes
Students riding a bus home to an already established bus stop other than their own assigned stop, must present a written note from their parent/guardian to the main office the day of the request.
Late Arrival to School
Students arriving to school after 8:45AM must be escorted into the main office by a parent/guardian. Please do not allow your child(ren) to walk into the school without an adult. The child must be signed-in at the office by a parent/guardian.
Alertus
Salford Hills Elementary School is directly linked to various law enforcement agencies by the Alertus panic button which is used to send an emergency notification directly to the Montgomery Country Emergency Dispatch 911 call center. This provides an extra layer of communication in the event of an emergency.
We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation with these safety procedures. It is our hope that the sharing of these procedures will help to create a safe and predictable environment for you, your child, and our school.
