Rio Norte News - September 22, 2023
A Note From the Principal
Good Morning River Hawk Families,
The first day of fall is here and while our weather is warming up again, all things fall and pumpkin spice are around us everywhere. I hope you and your family are able to enjoy the outdoors together this weekend!
This week Team Cimarron won the PTSA Student Membership Drive and students were treated to a grab and go breakfast! Next week, all PTSA student members will get their little token of appreciation for September. Student members should listen to announcements on RioTV. Today was a FUN Friday in Advisory and classes competed against each other to see how well they knew our SOAR Matrix (see picture below) and how quickly they could answer questions about it. Congratulations to Mrs. Kapp's and Mr. Knutsen's Advisory classes who will be treated to an Otter Pop next week!
With September coming to a close next week, Quarter 1 will be ending before students know it! If your student is not doing well, be sure they are talking with their teachers. Encourage your child to show you their Google Classroom, or Teacher website, and show you the work they need to complete so you can help them prioritize and pace out the work they are missing along with new work still being assigned. Additionally, they need to communicate with their teacher about what work they will still accept and what the last date to turn in missing work is, because each teacher is different. Be sure you're taking time to look at Infinite Campus (IC) and see how they're doing. CLICK HERE FOR INSTRUCTIONS on Notifications and Contact Preferences in IC.
Finally, we hope you were able to save the date and can join us for Kim Karr's parent presentation this Tuesday night, September 26th at 5:30 p.m. in our Rio Norte MPR. Please see the RSVP down below.
