Dear District 57 Families,
In District 57, we deeply value our community partnerships and the support families like yours provide to our school community. As part of our Strategic Plan goal of strengthening family partnerships, we are excited to share two wonderful volunteer opportunities.
1. DISTRICT EQUITY LEADERSHIP TEAM (DELT)
The goal of this committee is to enhance the quality of outstanding student experiences. DELT will review the equity audit completed during the 2022-2023 school year, review quantitative & qualitative data, and make recommendations to the District 57 Board of Education. This committee will meet on the following dates:
Tuesday, October 3 from 1-3 pm
Thursday, November 2 from 1-3 pm
Wednesday, November 15 from 1-3 pm
Tuesday, November 28 from 1-3 pm
Tuesday, December 19 at 7 pm (present recommendations to the Board)
Tuesday, April 23 from 1-3 pm (progress evaluation meeting)
Following this school year, the committee will meet annually. We ask that interested participants commit to serving at least two years. Please complete this form by Friday, September 22, which will help us to compile a committee that represents diverse backgrounds and experiences. All individuals who express interest will receive communication from D57 by Tuesday, September 26.
2. Citizen Finance Advisory Committee (CFAC)
This committee, which launched in the spring of 2022, will continue this school year as a part of District 57’s financial projection process by providing input to the Board of Education to assist them in making financial decisions.
Currently, we are looking for a variety of stakeholders to participate in CFAC, including staff members, parents, students, and community members. This committee will meet on these tentative dates:
Thursday, October 26 at 6 pm
Thursday, November 30 at 6 pm
Thursday, December 14 at 6 pm
Thursday, January 18 - Board Meeting Presentation at 7 pm
