Message from the Principal
Hello Smithfield Families!
We are proud to share that Smithfield Elementary School was awarded the U.S. News & World Report designation of being in the top 30% of the best elementary schools in the state of Pennsylvania. You will soon see a banner with this designation near our main entrance. Here's a look at what was published about our school: (link). We are also proud of our fifth-grade finalists in the Russell C. Hughes Monroe County Spelling Bee Championships. We have one Smithfield student moving on to the next round. Congratulations!
Check out the resources below for our calendar of events as well as the reading and guidance newsletters. They explain the fun events happening this month.
As always, if you have any questions, please call our office at (570) 421-2841. Wishing you a safe and healthy month of February.
Sincerely,
Kristin Lord

Birthday Celebrations
Until further notice, all classroom birthday celebrations are on hold. Please do not send any items prepackaged (or otherwise) from home to share with others.
The cafeteria is in the process of bringing back their Birthday Basket package that parents/guardians will be able to purchase to celebrate their child's special day. More information and order forms will be released from Food Services soon.
In keeping with health and safety, the ESASD Birthday Basket option will be the only type of birthday celebration permitted at this time.
