January Highlights
January was an interesting month with all the weather but we still had a few highlights.
- Our Scholars Bowl team competed in a competition and did an excellent job!
- Asher Haynes represented us well at the Morgan County Spelling Bee.
- Our 2nd-5th Graders began taking the ACAP Practice test to help prepare for our state testing in the March and April.
- We celebrated the 100th Day of School!
- Our students completed the Super Hero Math fluency challenge. Students who met their goals will get to attend a Super Secret Super Hero party on Feb. 9th.
- Teachers and students are working hard to finish this school year strong!

Mrs. Barnes
My name is Angela Barnes and I am beyond excited and honored to be Julian Harris Elementary School principal. This will be my 37th year in education. I look forward to seeing all the smiling facing of students and adults eager to learn new things. I hope and pray that I can encourage others to be the best they can be and believe in themselves even on difficult days. There is always sunshine that comes with the rain. I begin every day by saying “it is going to be a great day!! If you believe you can do it you can!
