Message from the Principal
Dear God,
This Christmas, give us the grace to imitate Jesus, to become people who live as he showed us. Bless us that we might be your beloved sons and daughters, peacemakers, people who love one another and love our neighbours. Bless us that we might be a new Christmas people, who, like Mary and Joseph, welcome Christ into the world, see Christ in the poor, serve Christ in the world's children and bring Christ's Christmas gift of peace on earth to fruition in our lives and work.
This Christmas, God of Peace, bless us again, that we might live with a new, mature faith, that we might become peacemakers on Earth, that we might be instruments of your Christmas gift of peace in the world.
Amen
How quickly another year has gone past. Children finish school this Friday but staff will be at school next week. Very soon we will be celebrating Christmas. May you all have a joy-filled Christmas and may all your Christmas wishes come true. Have a holy, happy and safe Christmas and January holiday in the company of family and friends.
May the Lord bless you; may the Lord keep you;
may the Lord bestow upon you his peace this Christmas.

A Christmas Message from Dr Debra Sayce, Executive Director, Catholic Education WA
2nd December 2022
Dear colleagues, parents and friends of Catholic education
Catholic schools have long been cornerstones of the communities we serve across Western Australia, providing opportunities for every student to discover their God-given potential.
Looking back on the 2022 school year, we can again be proud of the great impact our efforts are having on the lives of students as well as the broader communities we serve.
Despite the challenges our school communities faced after COVID-19 restrictions were lifted early in the year, it was the welcoming spirit at the heart of our communities, the expertise, and dedication of staff, and our shared Gospel values that will be recalled as a hallmark of the year now past.
I am grateful for the perseverance of our teachers, students and parents who have continued to adapt to new ways of teaching and learning. I also thank our school leadership teams and all staff in our offices and schools for ensuring our schools remained constant in their mission to be inclusive and outstanding learning environments.
Considering the financial pressures many WA families find themselves in, providing an affordable Catholic education to all who seek one has continued to be of paramount importance. As we reflect on this, we are reminded that our calling is to support every student to prepare for an ever-changing world. This remains central to the remarkable achievements and progress in our schools this year and I acknowledge all in our community for your commitment to this mission.
In this season of Advent, and as we prepare for the joyous celebration of Christmas, may you and your loved ones receive the blessings of peace, joy, hope and love. For those spending time with loved ones from out of state or overseas this will be a particularly special Christmas after a period of being apart. With the familiar sounds of friends and family gathered together, we are reminded of the timeless blessing of the good news of the coming of Jesus Christ.
I wish you all a blessed Christmas and I look forward to welcoming you back in the new year as we continue our mission to deliver Christ-centred and child-focused education in WA.
Yours sincerely
Dr Debra Sayce
Executive Director
Faith In Action
During the third and fourth weeks of Advent, we focus on the themes of joy and love.
In the third week, we celebrate the joy of the coming of the Christ child and the anticipation of His birth. This is a time to reflect on the hope and joy that He brings into our lives. We can also take time to spread joy to others through acts of kindness and generosity.
In the fourth week, we focus on the love of God and how it is manifested through the birth of Jesus. This is a time to remember the great love that God has for us and to show love to others in practical ways. We can also take time to reflect on how we can embody the love of God in our own lives.
As we enter the final weeks of Advent, let us continue to focus on joy and love, preparing our hearts and minds for the celebration of Christ's birth.

Medical News
Dear Parents/Carers,
For all children that have a medical condition with a current action plan, your child will bring home a letter today or tomorrow, to prepare for the new school year, 2023. Could you please attend to this over the summer holidays and return the forms on the first day of school next year, Wednesday 1st February 2023. It is a requirement of the school that the plans are updated annually.
If your child’s medication remains in date, it will be passed on to your child’s next year level teacher. If you have received notification that your child’s required medication has expired, please supply the school with in-date medication, on the first day of school.
ALL medications need to be brought into the school office by parents/carers and not placed in your child’s bag. All medication is recorded for safety purposes.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Thank you for your continued support this year and I wish you all, a beautiful Christmas spent with family and friends.
Warmest wishes,
Aleisha Raby

Sport News
Last Thursday the Year 6 students and some selected Year 5s attended the annual summer carnival. Students participated in the cricket, tennis and indoor beach volleyball. The day was very well organised and the WACA, Tennis WA and the Beach Volleyball Association helped during the day. Special thank you to the following Year 9 boys; Blair, Ziggy and Isaac who umpired the cricket blast games at Kingsway.
Art News
Throughout the year, selected students take part in the Art Extension Program. They are given a project to work on to create artworks for the school. We have had three groups this year. Our first project was to create Noongar Seasons Canvases which are displayed in the Art Room. Our second project was to create Dreamtime Story Artworks which are displayed in the Library. Our current project is a 're-vamp' of the cow statue in the Kindy/Pre-Primary playground. We have decided to re-name the cow 'Betsy Butters'. We have been working hard to transform and complete 'Betsy'
