Notes from the Office
- Please refrain from having the staff on drop off and pick up duty turn in lunch money or notes for your child. If needed, park and come into the office or call, this will help the office staff avoid any miscommunication.
- With our school being in a neighborhood, we must always be mindful of homes and businesses around us. If possible please do not block driveways to the homes and businesses around the schoool during student dismissal.

Playground Fencing Upgrade
A new playground fence as been installed at MCE. The playground was closed for the safety and security of our students much of the week. However, the new fence looks great! As you can see in the picture above, the old fence was leaning considerably. These posts will be removed as soon as the ground is hard enough for the necessary equipment.
This week, new doors are being installed at the bus entrance. There are a lot of great updates happening on the MCE Campus!
PTO Mother Daughter Paint Night: February 2nd
PTO sold more than 130 canvas' for the Mother Daughter Paint Night. Many mom and daughter teams joined us for a fun evening, the painting skills were on point! Thank you to everyone who helped make this fundraiser and family engagement event a success! See more photos on our Facebook page.
National School Counselor Week: February 5-9th
We have celebrated Ms. Taylor and the fantastic work and support she provides our students this past week. Taylor plays a crucial role at MCE. Not only does she provide whole class counseling lessons, she provides counseling to small groups and individuals. Ms. Taylor helps facilitate the building wide PBiS committee and oversees many of our school wide behavior incentives. Historically, February is a low attendance month, so Ms. Taylor has lead the implementaiton of the HOT Award. Any classroom with all students at school on time revieces a "HOT Award". At the end of the month, the classroom with the most "Hot Awards" will receive the incentive.
We 💙 having Ms. Taylor on our team!
Health Department Visits PreK: February 8th
Mrs. Schlanker from the health department has come to speak to both pre-k classes about good hygiene! Some things they discussed were brushing their teeth and washing their hands. Thank you to the health department for providing this service to our community. The kids were engaged and loved every minute of it.
High School Band Visits 5th Grade: February 8th
A heartfelt appreciation to the high school band for their captivating performance for our 5th-grade students today. Their impressive knowledge of each instrument provided valuable insights, exposing our students to exciting opportunities and skills available in the middle school's elective classes. Special thanks to Mrs. Mabry for setting up this experience for our students.
