- Goats – 70 pound minimum with a 0.2 lb daily rate of gain
- Chickens – Pen of 3 (same Breed) 4 lb each
- Turkeys – Hen 15 lb minimum, Tom 20 lb minimum
- Ducks – Pen of 3 (same breed) 5 lb each
- Rabbits – Pen of 3 (same breed, same variety) 4-6 pound range each
(All market Chickens, Turkeys and Ducks must be ordered and purchased through the Fairboard process. The deadline to order those was Jan. 23rd.)
The board is working to mirror our classes with classes in the state fair premium book. With this in mind we have added a class a few years back that is not in the state fair. This year Nigerian Dwarf Does will be shown in the dairy goat class. We will allow Nigerian Dwarf Weathers to show as a Novelty project this year but after this year it will not fit into a class so it will not be permitted at the fair.
All species an exhibitor enters and brings to fair will be shown by the exhibitor. This does not mean every animal but at least one of every species. (This includes Turkeys- be sure to work with yours)
Poster requirements have been updated. See the attached PDF. Note: The 4-H Office will be providing kits for poster making & record books this year. More on that soon!
Animals that do not fall into a class will NOT be allowed in our barns. We are moving to mirror our classes with the state fair classes to help streamline things.
If you have a market entry, the record book must be completed in its entirety or you will not be permitted to market the animal at the fair. This means you must complete each piece of the check off form including but not limited to the quality assurance form, essay, etc…
