We will be having a fundraising event at Raising Cane's (6511 E. Broad St.) on Thursday, November 3rd from 2:00-9:00 PM. Mention our fundraiser at the register and Raising Cane's will donate 15% of sales to our school. Funds raised will be used for student incentives and activities throughout the school year.

The District has an Asynchronous Day on Tuesday, November 8th. There will be no in-person classes. Grades K-3 will have a paper packet to complete and Grade 4 will have digital work to complete.

As a reminder, Monday, November 7th is a Remote Learning Day due to transportation and Tuesday, November 8th is an Asynchronous Day that was built into the District calendar. A Remote Learning Day means students will log into their teachers Zoom and have live instruction and work to complete. An Asynchronous Day means students will complete classwork on their own and there will not be any live instruction.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's teacher directly.

We have many, many items filling up our Lost and Found tables. If your child is missing something, please have them check the Lost and Found table. As we head into the colder months, consider labeling your students items with their first and last name.

English Language Learners in 3rd and 4th grade worked with their ESL teacher, Mrs. Purtell, to create flags to represent their families' countries and home language. We are thrilled to see all of the different cultures that make up Slate Ridge! 18 countries are represented in this display and 12 different languages are spoken by our students and their families. Indoor recess will occur if either the temperature or wind chill is below 25 degrees Fahrenheit or outdoor conditions do not permit safe play. If you need assistance with coats or hats, please contact our main office at 614-501-5500.

We Rise Tickets are tickets that classes can earn throughout the school day. The class has to work together to show Respectful, Responsible, and Ready behavior throughout the school building. When another staff member sees the class with awesome Rise Behavior, they reward the class with a We Rise Ticket. As classes earn We Rise Tickets, they earn rewards!

As part of our building-wide initiative to encourage reading at home, your child will be bringing home a weekly reading log. The weekly reading log will come home on Monday's and will have four nightly boxes to complete before turning in the reading log on Friday. As an incentive, if your child completes their weekly reading log and brings it back to school on Friday, they can enter their reading log into a bucket for a chance to have their log drawn at the bi-weekly Monday morning RISE Assembly. If their reading log is drawn, they will get to come on stage and play Plinko! Prizes vary from RISE Money to spend at the School Store, restaurant coupons, or free books! While this reading log is not mandatory, we are hoping to encourage reading beyond the school building. If you need support with books to read at home, please contact your child's teacher directly. Parents/Guardians are required to report all absences for their child to the school office the day the child is absent. Please call the office at 614-501-5500 and speak to the secretary or leave a message, stating your child’s first AND last name, your name, and the reason for the absence. The school office must be notified of your child’s absence within two hours of the start of the school day. To excuse an absence, the guardian must provide a written or emailed parent note to excuse up to ten (10) absences per school year. The 10 excuse notes can be used for full-day absences, early dismissals and late arrivals. If you have any questions regarding attendance, please call the office.

TARDIES: Students who arrive to school after 8:10 am are considered tardy. Those students will need to be brought into the office through the main front doors by a parent/guardian and signed in.
