A Note From the Principal
Our Houses have finished competing in the House Olympics and the winner was Purple House! Additionally, all advisory classes participated in our "Name that Movie Theme Song," house activity and the winner for that was Red House!
Next week we are launching our "You Matter" campaign. For a sneak peek, see my message on today's RioTV broadcast, embedded in the newsletter below. Vision screening takes place on Tuesday for 8th graders. If your student wears glasses some of the time, please encourage them to bring them to the screening.
This next week is the last week of PTSA's STUDENT membership contest. See details below with the link to sign your student up. The House with the most members will be invited to a celebration breakfast. Right now Blue House has a narrow lead with 26.6% membership. Purple House and Red House are right behind, tied at 24% membership. It's so close!
Finally, more students seem to be forgetting their ID cards lately. If your student has a phone, encourage them to take a picture of the ID card, making sure the bar code is fully visible and not blurry. In most cases, we can scan it off their phones. They do need to have the ID card though to be scanned for lunch and purchases at the ASB office, so it is best if they have the card on them each day. But if they forget, they can at least be scanned onto campus with the picture. If your student has lost their ID card, they can buy a replacement ID for $5 in the library.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Bennett
