A TIME OF THANKFULNESS AT HORIZON
Fall Greetings to all our Horizon Families,
During these fall months we cannot help but to reflect on how thankful we are to have the opportunity to be able to educate and shape the future of your wonderful children in their formative years. One of the things that makes Horizon so special is that we have so many diverse students, families and staff coming together making us one big wonderful school family. Your children are at the heart of all we do. Each staff member in our school family truly gives from their heart to provide a nurturing environment filled with engaging educational opportunities every single day for each child. It is for these reasons we are thankful and proud to call Horizon our "School Family".
What types of things do you reflect upon and give thanks for this time of year? This is a great time of year to share a few of the things you are grateful for with your children. Encouraging your children to be reflective about the things they are thankful for creates great family conversations any time of year.
Yours in Education,

A lot is happening at Horizon
Brrrr! It can be cold outside!
Please remember to send your student in warm clothes:
- Jacket, hat, mittens and proper footwear
- Dressing in layers really helps when the weather fluctuates so much!
- We do go outside to play multiple times a day for recess to exercise our bodies and get fresh air.
- It is good for your student to move and burn off energy throughout the day and being dressed properly makes it far more enjoyable to be outside when it is chilly!
- Please contact us if you are struggling to provide you child with the essentials.
Thank you so much for your help with this.
Please remember to check the lost and found
- If you are missing a jacket, lunch box, eyeglasses or sweatshirt, etc.
- There is quite a large selection out there!
- Be sure to check it out if you are missing something!!!

In addition to reading the I'm not Scared, I'm Prepared book written specifically for A.L.I.C.E.. Horizon Elementary will be will be practicing some "hall checks" and "secure" drills over the next couple months to slowly acclimate the students to A.L.I.C.E. procedures.
