As we conclude another engaging week at LPS. School Choice Week has come to an end. What a great day we had celebrating our students for choosing Leadership Prep as their school.

Academic Achievements:

We loved to celebrate the academic accomplishments of our students at this week's Awards Assembly. It was great experiencing how students are dedicated to their studies.

Extracurricular Highlights:

Our extracurricular activities continue to thrive. Science & Math Olympiads are kicking off, Middle School & High School Cheer is off to State and Basketball starts their first round of play-offs.

Special Guests:

This week was School Choice Week and we ended with a visit from Texas Senator Springer. Our Lighthouse students presented him with an award on behalf of LPS.

Jimmy John's and Chick-fil-a ordering is now open for February! Please visit myschoolbucks.com to order. Be sure to select the correct student when ordering, changes cannot be made. Jimmy John's will be offered on Mondays and is available on the following Mondays in February: 2/5, 2/12, 2/19 & 2/26. Chick-fil-a will be offered on Thursdays and is available on the following dates in February: 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 2/22 & 2/29. Ordering will close on January 28th.

LPS Sweetheart Daddy Daughter Dance

LPS Sweetheart Daddy Daughter Dance is a 90 minute semi-formal dance for all father figures and daughters grades Kindergarten - 5th.

· The dance is on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 4 pm - 5:30 pm and will be located at the LPS Secondary Campus Gymnasium. Please enter through Secondary Campus front entrance.

· Tickets are $15 each. Tickets are per person and each attendee must have a ticket.

· There will be a complimentary dessert bar and one complimentary keepsake photo per father/daughter(s) group.

· Tickets are nonrefundable.

STAAR Bootcamp

We are offering "STAAR Bootcamps" during Friday Intervention days. By setting up a rotation for the students to have an opportunity to work a bit more on commonly missed STAAR questions/concepts, we are hoping to give them an extra boost for their state assessment. Please fill out the form below if you are interested in sending your child. Your child must sign up for this service in order to attend. There is no cost. The time is 8:00 - 1:00. The date will depend on which session(s) you choose on the form.

Community Service Reminders

Helper Helper is the digital platform our secondary campus uses to record and validate community service hours. Please make sure your student has an accessible account. If they need any help, please email helperhelper@lpsfrisco.net

· Volunteer service must be provided for non-profit organizations. Volunteering at a for-profit company does not qualify as community service.

· Parents should not be listed as coordinators for community service, unless:

o they are associated with the non-profit organization, as shown by having an organizational email address for validation, or

o they have been approved to coordinate a service project (such as a community litter clean up) by a Helper Helper administrator prior to the date of service.

· Students need to submit their service hours within two weeks of the service date.

· Community service guidelines are found on pages 87-90 in the Parent-Student Handbook.
