Notes from Dr. Mullenschlader
Happy St. Patrick's Day! In honor of the great St. Patrick, tomorrow students and staff are invited to wear a green shirt with their uniform bottoms.
Almsgiving: I think it is safe to say that we all want our children to practice the virtue of generosity. Generosity comes from the virtue of charity, and it leads us to magnanimity. Magnanimity is large-heartedness, giving of ourselves without expecting a return. We give because we recognize the gifts God has given to us and we want to share. As Catholics, we are called to share time, talent, and treasure. Sharing our time and talents is generous, but let us not forget God deserves our treasure, as it derives from the gifts he has given us. Teaching our children to share our treasure with others, embodies the virtue of generosity. So this lent, let's commit as families to practice almsgiving and embody generosity. Building this heavenly habit will help us and our children grow one step closer to sainthood. Have a blessed Spring Break!

St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Join the St. Charles Borromeo community Friday, March 17th after school release, and before the Fish Fry, for the Second Annual St. Charles, St. Patrick’s Parade, down Main Street! This fun, family-friendly event celebrates Irish Heritage and the Patron Saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick.
Plan: Wear attire that supports Ireland, Saint Patrick, or St. Charles Borromeo!
Bring any candy or trinkets you would want to hand to patrons watching the parade. No political endorsements, please.
All children must be accompanied by an adult. If you cannot participate, but want your child to participate, please plan with another family to have your child attend with them.
There may be some porta-potties at the Boathouse, but likely nothing along the route. Plan accordingly.
Parade Start: Groups can gather after 2:30 and set up at the Lewis and Clark Boathouse parking lot (1050 S. Riverside Drive). Parade will depart at 4 p.m.
The Route: The parade will take a new route this year, traveling from the Boathouse parking lot to Main Street, down Main Street to Jefferson Street and will then turn right on Jefferson.
Notes: Parade is hosted by City St. Charles, MO and Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) St. Charles Division in cooperation with businesses on Main Street
