We are off to a great start this year! The students and teachers have already taken off into academics, faith formation, and forming of friendships. Full steam ahead!

Weekly trip orders have resumed! Parents may place orders anytime before 9:00 a.m. on Mondays and will be available to pick up in the school office by Friday mornings. If you have any questions about this wonderful way to reduce tuition costs, please call the office at 517-321-6126.

Note: TRIP tuition credit will be posted to your family Blackbaud Tuition account at the end of each semester. TRIP credit earned during the 2023-2024 school year will be credited during the current academic year. Remember, you can always designate TRIP to Lansing Catholic as well!

As discussed at the parent meetings, it is imperative that all parents or family members that plan to volunteer this school year, complete the VIRTUS training/refresher course to stay up to date. Any time spent in the school with student contact for any duration of time requires training; no exceptions!

In order to complete the online training, email Shawn Macksood in the office to be assigned the module (smacksood@stgerardlansing.org). If you would like to attend an in person training, St. Gerard will be offering one on Monday, Sept. 18th at 6:00 p.m. in the parish hall. You must register ahead of time for the in person training at www.virtus.org

Parent teacher conferences this year are quickly approaching! As they are in October this year, make sure you mark your calendar for the upcoming dates. Fall conferences are mandatory as these conversations are crucial for your child's success & development. We look forward to seeing you all!

~Wednesday, Oct. 11th: Evening conferences 5:00-7:30 p.m.

~Thursday, Oct. 12th: NO SCHOOL (Child care is open); all day conferences 7:30-10:00 a.m., 12:00-2:30, 5:00-7:30 p.m.

The Used Book Sale will take place during parent teacher conferences as well. All proceeds go towards the 8th grade trip to Washington DC!

In order to protect your child & all the children of St. Gerard School, please refer to the health and wellness policy sent home earlier this month.

In the event of a positive Covid case for a student or staff member, we are continuing to follow the recommendations of Barry Eaton Health Department:

All people who test positive for Covid-19 should undergo isolation for at least five full days. Day zero is the day symptoms began or the day of the positive test (for those with no Covid symptoms). If a student or staff member tests positive, regardless of vaccination status, they must isolate for five days and may return to school wearing a mask for at least another five days (days 6-10), as long as symptoms are improving and they have been fever free for 24 hours without the aid of medication.

We are required by law to notify you annually that we keep a copy of our asbestos management plan on file in the school office. If you would like a copy of that plan, you are welcome to stop in and review it at any time. Thank you!
