Catholic Identity Survey
Each year all Catholic Schools will conduct a survey on Catholic Identity with respect to various categories. Last year we conducted the full survey as part of the WCEA Accreditation process. For this year we will be conducting the survey on only two categories. You will receive a copy to the two surveys early next week. I would ask you to take the time to complete the survey, as your input will assist the school to assess our Catholic Identity.
Book Fair
This week we have been holding our Annual Book Fair, and I wish to thank Mrs. Allen and Miss Nasser for organizing it for the school community. I wish to thank all who have had the opportunity to purchase books for your family and friends or to buy books for your child's classroom. The Book Fair ends tomorrow, Friday (open 7:15 am and 12noon).
Christmas Program - December 17th at 7.15pm
Please note that our Christmas Program has a time change from 7pm to 7.15pm. The reason for the time change is that there is a 6pm Mass in the church, and we need time for those people attending Mass to leave the church. The children will be seated in their designated areas in the church, and they need to be at the church by 7pm. Parents will be seated in designated areas. I need to remind you that no food or drink may be brought into the Church, and that no one is allowed to stand on the seats. If you have visitors please remind them of the appropriate behavior in our church.
School Board News
The school board is currently reviewing the Family Contract with special emphasis on the Parish Festival involvement by parents. The board also has been reviewing various activities on the contract and reviewing parent participation with the various activities. It has been brought to the board's attention that some parents have been avoiding their commitment to the contract. Ethically, this is not acceptable as all families are expected to honor the contract. For those parents who have been avoiding their commitment, they will be contacted and placed on the Non Participation tuition rates.
Tuition 2016- 2017
Initial budget preparations have begun and it will appears that there will need to be an increase with tuition for the next school year. This will be due to increased salary and benefits for staff. The cost for electricity, gas and water has also increased over time, and we need to make adjustments to our budget. I thought it best to inform you of the potential increase for the next school year ahead of time.
Kindergarten Registration
We are currently taking inquiries for Kindergarten 2016-17 school year. We had a Kindergarten Open House yesterday, and there was good interest in our school from numerous families. If you have a child of Kindergarten age, it is important that you register your child early. Please contact the Admissions Director, Mrs. Ana Cierra, for further information.
Christmas Toy Appeal
We are currently collecting toys for the South San Francisco Fire & Police Department Toy Drive. Over the next two weeks it would be wonderful for our children to collect a toy to bring to school for the less fortunate in our local community. The collection runs through December 15th.
God Bless,

Virtue of the Month: Hope
We are celebrating the virtue of hope during the month December. The 1st Grade will be creating a display for the ends of the hallways. In this season of Advent and this waiting time, it is imperative to have hope and for the coming of God’s only Son, Jesus. Share your hopes with your children and family sometime this month.

School Raffle
The annual school raffle has started! Per your school agreement, each family is required to sell $50.00 worth of raffle tickets. We are asking you to sell twelve tickets, but if you’d like to sell more please don’t hesitate to ask the office for more tickets.
Your child(ren) will receive a free dress pass for every five tickets sold. For example, if a family sells fifteen tickets, your child will receive three free dress passes. If you have more than one child at the school, each child will receive dress passes. All free dress passes will be distributed by mid-February.
The raffle starts today and ends on January 29, 2016. All money and tickets stubs are to be turned into the school office by that date. Free dress passes will be given out to those students that return their tickets and money by the deadline.
The drawing will be held on February 1, 2016 at the Principal’s Awards Ceremony!
Thank you for your support and good luck!
