We have two full weeks left in this trimester of classes and then we have exam week. It’s hard to believe we are almost ⅔ of the way through this school year!

There have been so many engaging learning experiences happening in classes this week. In biology class, students created a nucleotide model. Each student had a different base on their left hand, their shoulder was a sugar molecule, and their fist was a phosphate. In Spanish class, students were practicing Spanish vocabulary while playing a game where thieves stole food. I know I learned from witnessing each of these lessons.

I encourage you to ask your students about what they are learning. I know when I visit classrooms, I wish I had the opportunities our students have as far as learning experiences. Let’s finish this trimester strong and without more snow days!

Lake Michigan College sponsors two free FAFSA Workshops to answer questions and assist families with their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). These take place at their campus in Benton Harbor and South Haven.

IMPORTANT: Students & Parents should go online and set up FSA IDs before attending help sessions. This is important information for you to have with you before you come to campus.

Visit studentaid.gov to create an FSA ID 2-3 days BEFORE the event. You'll need your Social Security number, full name, personal email, and date of birth. You'll create a memorable username and password and keep them with you.
