Social Worker Spotlight
Happy December! During this festive holiday season, there are many reasons to celebrate. It can be a wonderful time of year for families and friends to come together for giving and quality time together. However, the holiday season can also bring stress to many families in a variety of ways. For example, schedule demands may change based on holiday parties, shopping needs, or special activities for the children. Changes in routine, and perhaps less sleep, can be difficult for children and adults. Families may also be making plans to travel, spend time with relatives, and/or be more concerned about finances as a result of all of these additional tasks. We encourage families to take a pause and recognize that while this season can be a joyful time it can also be stressful and there may be a need for more moments of pause. Finally, if you are experiencing hardship this holiday season, for basic essential needs, please feel free to reach out to one of us at the school. We can not promise what resources we will have, but donations are often made to the school at this time of year.
Sincerely,
Claire Poole and Katie Hegg

Dress for the Weather
The temperatures have been dropping and the winds have been kicking up lately. It is important that students are dressed appropriately for recess. Please make sure your child is wearing a coat, hat, and gloves to help make recess a comfortable and fun experience. If the staff on duty feel they are not prepared for outdoor recess, they may not be able to participate in recess that day.
