The ScoopSpecial Services Update - September 26, 2022

Communication, The Scoop & You!

Geared up for the #TISDGameChangers to head into week 7! We are almost to the busy month of October. Make sure you are checking for any fatal PEIMS errors and things are up to date for Snapshot coming up the last Friday of October (evaluations/ARDs).

There may be a lot of information in the SCOOP that you are responsible for knowing. We want to limit all the separate group emails, so we condense most of our communication into this newletter for you and for easy reference to go back and find. Please be sure and read each edition of the Scoop carefully and let us know if you have any questions.

Have a great week!

~Keri

Please make sure we are completing the Dyslexia Supplement as we complete the Annual and Initial ARD meetings. If the student meets eligibility then the entire supplement should be completed.

Signature Page of ARDs

Please have the parent(s) and administrator sign the document using the mouse or his/her finger. If this option is unavailable due to the device the parent(s) is using, then have the parent(s) sign the document by hand and upload it into Archive Manager. For all other participants (teachers, evaluation staff, CTE rep, etc.) we may state “verbally agreed.” Therefore, every person in attendance must either have a signature or have “verbally agreed” by his/her name.

Divorced parents uncertain of roles in IEP process? Provide clarity with documentation

This weeks topic for Ruling Roundup is Emotional Disturbance. See recent court case summaries involving this area.

Emotions may already be high before developing a student's IEP, but when divorced parents of a student with a disability are also confused about their rights to contribute their child's IEP development, the process can become even harder.
