Report Cards in the Home Folder Today 11/7

Please note there will not be a grade for Art until the semester report card. Art started later this quarter, and there have not been enough Art days to create a true grade yet.

Please make sure your student has all the gear needed for outside recess.

Check in with your older students to see if they have what they need to go outside. We would like to see everyone wearing a coat, hat and mittens.

Book Fair Coin Challenge!

Funds raised will put books in our classroom libraries AND Scholastic matches all funds collected!!!


Each classroom has their own ALL FOR BOOKS container. Coins will be collected November 11th-14th. Totals will be shared out at the end of each day. The classroom with the highest coin donation will win an ICE CREAM PARTY. Every coin donated will help us put a book in your child’s class. Thank you for joining in the fun!

Basketball season has begun!

Players chose jerseys this week. It was fun to see the excitement on the faces of the students and the coaches!

The store closes Thursday, November 14. This will be our last order before Christmas. Please let the office know if any items are for Christmas gifts so we do not send the order home with your child.

Attention families of 6th-8th Grade students

Forensics season is almost upon us. If you have never heard of Forensics, it is a public speaking competition, with over 20 categories to choose from. Examples include: Demonstration, Group Acting, Infomercial, and Impromptu Speaking. Students in grades 6-8 compete at several Friday night meets from Jan.-March. Practices happen with an assigned coach, generally 2-3 times weekly. If you are interested, there will be an informational meeting Monday, November 18th, 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Cafe. Come check it out!

Our November Virtue of the Month is: Respect

Students learned that Respect comes in three forms, respect for people, places, and things. As a whole school, our "homework" is to respect the adults in the building by using their names when speaking with them.


The prayer for Respect:


Dear Jesus,

Help me to show reverence to people who are in authority over me as I would to You. And help me to give all persons the honor they deserve as Your unique creation.


Amen.


Respect means: Speaking and acting according to one's own and other's rights, status, and circumstances.


Opposing Trait: Resisting the directives of rightful authority.


Ways to Cultivate Respect: Be respectful in words and actions (body language); allow others to go first.

Ever wonder what "flexible seating" is?

Mrs. Buechel recently added two stand up desks in her room. This option allows for flexibility as students complete their daily work tasks. We have been looking to add these options to more classrooms this year. The reviews are in and the kids "LOVE" it!
