SHS Spotlight

The students, faculty, and staff want to thank everyone who helped to make our Catholic Schools Week celebration special. Whether you coordinated a new theme outfit for every day of the week (aren't you glad we return to our uniforms next week?), came and helped out at the ice rink, helped provide treats for our teachers, or anything else at all, we say THANK YOU!

We are excited to announce our spirit wear is available to purchase via our online store at Crafty Yoopers Marketplace!

Crafty Yoopers Marketplace is a platform similar to Etsy or eBay, but dedicated to Upper Peninsula vendors. Our bus driver, Jason Gray, runs the Crafty Yoopers Marketplace with his wife, Stacy.

This platform gives us the opportunity to make our inventory and spirit wear options more accessible to families, as well as allow us to reach more alumni and supporters who live outside the area.

Pricing will remain the same (current face value) for all enrolled families. However, in order to cover shipping costs and hopefully make a small profit from spirit wear, we will be raising the product pricing for alumni and other supporters. This idea was approved recently by our Home and School Association.

Wednesday, February 7, is a half-day with a teacher in-service in the afternoon. Students will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m. Please be aware that the public schools have a full day on the 7th, so there is no L'Anse bus in the afternoon.

The teachers and I are grateful for these extra in-service sessions as we are diving more deeply into classical methods of teaching and a stronger integration of our virtues program into our daily activities. I believe these efforts will bear much fruit!

Please keep Mrs. Liddle and her baby in your prayers in the upcoming weeks. Mrs. Liddle is due on February 12, and she and Mr. Liddle are very excited to become parents and welcome their little "peanut."

While Mrs. Liddle is on maternity leave, Mrs. Joanne Stiglich will be filling in as the school secretary. Mrs. Stiglich is a member of Sacred Heart Parish in L'Anse and is looking forward to helping us out during this time.
