Welcome Back, Mountaineers! Welcome Back, Mountaineers!

You have no idea how severely we've missed you! You have no idea how severely we've missed you!

How was your summer? How was your summer?

Did you read anything interesting? Did you read anything interesting?

Who Are We? Who Are We?

(And why are we emailing you?) (And why are we emailing you?)

We're your librarians, of course, and this is our newsletter! We're your librarians, of course, and this is our newsletter!

That's Mrs. Binns in front! As a reminder, I came to WOHS by way of Gregory and Hazel Elementary Schools. I enjoy crafting, helping others, and, of course, reading! I like to consider myself an adventurous person. I have a son, Owen, and a dog named, Butch. Please stop by to say hello and introduce yourself!

That's Mr. Thompson in the back, and it's a pleasure to begin my second year at West Orange High School. I'm a lifelong New Jersey resident & proud product of the Garden State's public education system from kindergarten through graduate school. I nest in the cliffs of the Watchung Mountains with my brilliant wife (historian, scholar, professor), our darling cat (piebald, sentinel, layabout), & a motley array of macroflora & microfauna. I love beautiful stuff beautifully made, ideas that stupefy the inquiring mind, behaviors that remind us what it means to share in human symmathesy, & the sensory experience of engaging with engrossing literature; visual & performing arts; inclusive design; sustainable, humanistic tech; scientific advances that uplift all while endangering none; & other expressions obstinate in binding a bit more mind to a given lump of matter.

Our Operating Hours Our Operating Hours

Starting Tuesday, September 12th, the LMC will adopt the operating hours below.

Remember, we are open before, during, and after school! Come early, come often!

ID Reminder ID Reminder

Consider this a friendly reminder that you'll need your student ID to sign in when you visit the LMC!

During the first few weeks of school, endowed as we are with boundless generosity and general magnanimity, we're willing to exercise lenience and will physically key in your student ID number if you (for some unfathomable reason) are roaming school grounds sans the standard credentials.

That said, as the year waxes on, we will require IDs for admission.

We're beyond eager to welcome you in while gently roasting those glamorous ID photos!

Lunch in the Library Lunch in the Library

The LMC is open during lunch! Stop by anytime between 10:28am and 11:15am to chill with friends, check out materials, get a bit of work done, make something special in the Mountaineer Makerspace, do some paper or 3-D printing, and, of course, visit your librarians!

It's worth mentioning that the LMC stops admitting visitors when we reach maximum capacity (about 150 people). Will you make the cut? (Don't worry, you totally will.)

Not Funny, Not Long Not Funny, Not Long

A hare net. A hare net.
