Greetings Families,
We are seeing some great things at school this year. Students are getting into the routine of school and they know and follow the expectations. Friday at Faculty Learning we shared some student successes. I am so proud of our students, their acts of kindness, and their hard work.
Some of you have received phone calls about great things your child got "caught" doing. I love making those phone calls. Students also get their picture posted on the wall in the gym as recognition for doing things "The Bronco Way."
We have 3 School Improvement Goals we are working on this year:
1. 80% of students will make typical or better progress in reading.
2. 80% of students will attend at least 160 days of school. We will increase student engagement/active learning so they want to be here.
3. We will provide small group and explicit instruction to all students in such a way that 4/5 students surveyed in each class will be able to explain what they are learning, why they are learning it, and how they know they got it.
We need your help with the 2nd goal. Please help your child attend school each day and be on time. On time means they are here and lined up with their class when the bell rings at 8:55 a.m. Each morning we pick a number. If the student who has that number in each class is in their seat and ready to learn when we call the number, they get to pick a prize from their teacher's prize box. We will also have class parties to celebrate the classes with the highest percentage of attendance.
Many parents have been coming to the playground with students in the morning. Starting Monday, September 19th, you will need to check in at the office then come around to the back gate (we will not check you in at the back gate anymore) if you want to come in. You will need to check out through the office when you leave. We are asking that you drop your child off at the gate as they know the breakfast and before school routines now.
Please read the parent letter below. It's the same one that was emailed out on Friday.
We appreciate all you do to help make school successful for your child. We love having them at school! They are why we are here.

Iron Kids
Use this link https://endurancecui.active.com/event-reg/select-race?e=82469231 to register your children.
Students who register will run 25 miles over the next 2 months. They can run at home, recess, PE, lunchtime laps with Mrs. Evans, or anytime they can get miles in. On Tuesday, October 25th at 4:30 p.m. they will be able to run their final mile on the Iron Man course. They will cross the finish line and receive a medal and you can take pictures. Parents and teachers can run with them or cheer them on from the sidelines.
I have included a PDF below of a Training Document you can use to keep track of miles.
