We are excited to kick off a brand new school year at Challenger 7 with our new theme, "Great Minds Grow Here. We look forward to working with you and seeing your child grow throughout this school year. We value your support and partnership throughout this journey to ensure a successful year for all. The first Monday of every month you will receive this newsletter to provide you with school-wide information and upcoming events. On August 8th, parents/guardians will receive information about your child's teacher assignment for the school year. Join us on August 9th between 1PM - 3PM to meet your child's teacher and drop off any school supplies. See the flyer below for more information.

This school year Challenger 7 was added to the Community Eligibility Provision program (CEP). Through this program, all students will receive free breakfast and lunch for the 2023 - 2024 school year.

This year, Challenger 7 lost it's Title I status. This means that we did not receive additional funds as we have in the past. Last year, we received an additional $200,408 to spend on school supplies, family nights, curriculum, field trips, technology, and staff. This year we will not have these additional funds to spend.

Title I status is determined by Free and Reduced Lunch applications. Even though all students will receive free lunch this year, we need all families to complete the free/reduced lunch application. Even if you do not think you will qualify, please complete the application to help us earn our status and funding back for next school year.

On designated days, parents/guardians can join their child in the courtyard for their assigned 30 minute lunch. The dates below are the assigned parent/guardian lunch days. All birthday treats brought to school must be store bought. For student safety, homemade treats will not be distributed. Did you know our cafeteria can provide a variety of birthday treats for your child? See the order form below for options and pricing. All orders must be submitted at least 10 days prior to the event.

We are a PBIS school. This means we have adopted a set of school wide expectations that define behavior expectations in and around our school campus and classrooms. Being a STAR student means being Safe, Trustworthy, Actively Engaged, and Respectful. When students are caught exhibiting one of these expectations, they earn STAR tickets which can be redeemed for various rewards.

School Advisory Councils (SAC) is a school-based group intended to represent the school and the community. The group shares responsibility for guiding the school toward continuous improvement. The SAC is composed of the principal and a balanced number of elected teachers, education support employees, students, and parents, along with appointed business and community people, who are representative of the ethnic, racial, and economic community served by the school.

We are continually looking for volunteers to help with school events, field trips, and other school needs. To become an approved volunteer complete the on-line Volunteer Application (https://apps.raptortech.com/Apply/NjE6ZW4tVVM=) and then go directly to the BPS district office to be fingerprinted with District & School Security.
