At our final VIP & Me book club, 2nd and 3rd graders and their VIP’s explored Reader’s Theater and script writing. Reader’s Theater allows students to re-read a chapter or scene from a book and to act out the dialogue, teaching students that re-reading can bring new meaning to a story and encouraging smooth, expressive reading.

Even though we had finished our book, we could continue to “play” with the characters from Mr. Wolf’s class by creating new stories for them. Participants grabbed their puppets and sent Mr. Wolf’s class on all sorts of new adventures!

If your child's dismissal plans have changed, and it is a same-day change, please email Jennifer Costello at jcostello@cbsd.org or Jennie Temple at jtemple@cbsd.org in the Gayman office. This will ensure that your email is read and your child's teacher will be contacted. You may also call the Gayman Office at 267-893-4350.

March Madness is here! Have you ever heard of a Cinderella story or a Cinderella team? They describe a journey or team that achieves more than they were expected to accomplish. In honor of March Madness, we are sponsoring a “Slipper Day for Roxy Therapy Dogs”.

Pay $1 to wear slippers or pajamas on Friday, March 31st and your donation will benefit the Roxy Therapy Dogs. Thanks for joining the madness!

Everyday one Gayman staff member selects one student to be our "Mustang of the Day"! Students are selected for demonstrating one of the "Gayman 5" character traits: respect, responsibility, kindness, perseverance, and cooperation.

Congratulations to...Gray Robertie, Quinn Bucknam, Taylor Jones, and Oliver DiLeo.

Looking ahead, the PSSAs will take place in April and May for 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students. The dates for the tests are listed below:

• April 24th, 25th, & 26th: English Language Arts for Grades 3-6
• May 1st and 2nd: Mathematics for Grades 3-6
• May 3rd and 4th: Science for Grade 4

Changes to the Executive Board titles have been recently proposed to more accurately reflect roles and responsibilities. These will be voted on and finalized at the May 23rd meeting. More details and information on each position are available here. The positions open for nominations are:

It is time to order your GAYMAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL yearbook and customize two free pages for your child. Information on how to order (with our school code) and how to customize pages can be found below.

All orders must be placed by April 15th.

NOTE: Requests for morning or afternoon kindergarten are determined on a first come - first serve basis. Priority is also given to a request with a documented need by the parents' employers.
