Training Tip
Fartlek training is an effective tool to use in your swim workouts. Fartlek is a Swedish word which means “speed play” and refers to a training technique that is used by distance runners. Fartlek training consists of working in some high intense sprints in varying lengths and frequency through out the workout. In order to improve your speed it's important to add Fartlek speed play training. It helps to vary your speed to get out of your comfort pace. Fartlek training also has an added benefit that allows you to train at higher intensity levels without risking injury that usually happen with more repetitive intense intervals.
