Principals Newsletter
Fall has arrived and with it comes the changing leaves and cooler temperatures. It's hard to believe that we are done with a quarter of the school year and are entering into the holiday season. To say our teachers and students are working hard is an understatement. We have gotten into a good groove with teaching and learning and our students have already earned many classroom rewards and moolah bucks. Our teachers have established fantastic routines with their students and the entire staff is working hard to assist one another when help is needed. You would be hard pressed find a more supportive and cooperative school staff.
We wanted to let you all know about some things we have coming up during the holiday season. With the help of our Renaissance Committee will be collecting non-perishable food items daily from November 8 - 20th to support our local Community Food Bank.
We are also in the planning stages of our Winter Concert and more information will be coming out in the near future. Our hope as we continue into our school year, is that we can find ways that make our children's lives more normal when it comes to school activities.
Please make sure you dress your child according to the weather. We still plan to go outside when the weather permits, and they will often need a jacket or coat if the temperature is a bit cooler. We already have quite a collection of hoodies, sweaters and jackets in our Lost and Found. If your child is missing a garment, please encourage them to come to the main office and we will help them look for their missing item.
Also, please remember to keep your child(ren) at home if they aren't feeling well. Now that we are getting into the cold and flu season and are still trying to battle Covid, we need your help to ensure we keep the Swift-Slaybaugh School Complex as "sick-free" as possible!
Enjoy your week.
As always, please reach out if you have any concerns or questions.
Sincerely,
Rachel Casumpang, Interim Principal
Joetta Surace, Interim Assistant Principal

The Swift-Slaybaugh Complex Honors Veterans Day
Mrs. Del Prete & Miss Phillip's 2nd Grade class had such a great day learning about Veterans Day! We have TWELVE VETERANS (13 counting Mrs. Del Prete's own ad) in their class this year! WOW!!! A very special thank you to Landon DeSantis and Mila Arambulo's families for sharing their pictures and personal stories with the class😊. We appreciate all of our Veterans, and are so thankful to you all for your service!!!
Mrs. Widas’ class worked together to create this Veterans Day poster! Each student got a square to color. Then, we put them together to create this soldier poster. We hope you enjoy it!
