Middle College for *next year's* Juniors & Seniors (Class of '25 and '26)
Deadline for 2024-2025 is March 15, 2024 at 5 p.m.
The Middle College program at Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) is an early college opportunity for qualifying Corbett students who are looking for a different kind of high school experience.
As a part of the Middle College program, students enroll part-time at Mt. Hood Community College as a college student. Student take classes online or at the MHCC campus to complete high school diploma requirements, while also earning college credit. Corbett students apply for specific courses and credits. Middle College program is a great opportunity to finish a high school diploma and experience college at the same time. According to
Students have the option of exploring one of four pathways as Corbett student at Mt. Hood:
- Trade exploration/preparation
- Career-related learning (pre-med, graphic design, criminology, etc)
- Advanced academics
- Other classes not offered by Corbett
Middle College is available to juniors and seniors enrolled at Corbett High School or Corbett's online program. This is a competitive application process due to funding limitations. However, during the past three years, all qualified students have been accepted to participate (on track with credits, minimum scores on MHCC's placement tests, no academic honesty issues). Information sessions are held for all sophomore/junior homerooms prior to the application deadline to give students more information and answer questions. The slide deck for those information sessions is available here, and the application is available below.
Field trip opportunity for current 10th, 11th and 12th graders
Interested in a career in Health or the Exercise Science field? Several professionals who work in these diverse fields will be at WOU. You’ll have the opportunity to meet with them and WOU's amazing faculty! Want to go on this field trip on Thursday, February 8th?
There are three steps.
1. Complete this Google Form by 4:30 pm on Monday, February 5 to sign up.
2. A digital permission slip will be sent to parent(s)/guardian(s) of students that sign up. The form must be signed by 4:30 pm on Tuesday, February 6.
3. A list of students that signed up will be sent to teachers for sign off. If a student is not caught up in classes that meet on February 8, that student will not be permitted to attend. Teachers will give permission by the end of the day on Tuesday, February 6.
Limited spots available. If more students sign up (and get permission from parent/guardian and teachers) than there are spots, we will lottery the available spots.
Note: the bus for this field trip leaves at 6:45 am; students will need to be at school by 6:45 am to attend. The trip will return by the end of the school day.

FAQ: Do we need to make up days because of the storms?
At this point, no.
How is that possible? Corbett only goes to school four days a week! Surrounding school districts have days to make up when they miss less.
- Oregon calculates school in minutes, not days. Last spring, the school board directed the high school to add five minutes to our daily schedule, as high schools are required to have the most instructional time (990 hours a year in grades 9-11). This means we are in a strong position to weather school closures without make up days.
- Corbett does not miss instructional time for late starts, early dismissals, professional development days, or grading days, as is common practice for surrounding districts.
- Corbett starts school a week earlier than many neighboring districts to get a head start on instructional minutes.
- The state also recognized extenuating circumstances and has reduced the instructional time required for all schools in Oregon. More details here.

Ally Schimel did have time to rehab her ankle that she rolled over against Yamhill was the silver lining with the break." Stats against Banks: Ally Schimel 25 points 6 rebounds 4 steals, Ella Holwege 17 points 7 rebounds 4 assists, Lilly Schimel 15points 9 rebounds
