This week flew by! It was our second full week with some interesting weather! Warm and sunny, to rainy with thunder and lightening to cool and windy made for an interesting weather report at circle time. We survived our first power outage at school and teachers came up with creative ways to get up and move since recess was indoors. One classroom had a scavenger hunt around the Thacher side of the building and looked for pandas, whales, stars, and octopi.

Just a few reminders.

• Since it is getting colder please make sure your child is dressed appropriately as their recess time is much needed.
• We know parking is difficult but for the safety of the students please do no go through the cones to get to doors 3 & 5 or park in front of the cones.

Each week we are going to spotlight a classroom! This week we are starting with Ms. Renee's classroom!

Meet the Staff

Miss Renee-Special Education Teacher

I have been a teacher at the ELC since 2000 in room 203. I have my bachelors in Early Childhood Education and Masters in Special Ed. I enjoy teaching lessons at Circle Time/Make Something and seeing your children make progress! I love the color Green, Cookie-Dough ice cream, photography and attending the New England Revolution soccer games with my family!

Miss Jodi -Paraprofessional

I have been at the ELC since 2010, with Miss Renee for 11 years. I enjoy helping students play cooperatively during center time and some of my favorite centers are bubbles and musical instruments. I love the color Purple, Pickles, knitting, and visiting my children at their colleges!

Miss Sue-Paraprofessional

I have been at Thacher since 2020, with Miss Renee for 2 years. I enjoy helping students follow routines and model play for them. My favorite time of day is recess time. I love the color blue, Pizza, Coaching Basketball and Cheer Mom

The book fair is here and will be open from September 23-30th. Parents came come and visit the fair from 8:30-3pm Mon-Friday with their students. Make sure you sign in at the main office. It will also be open on Thursday from 6p-8p for TES Welcome Back Night. A flyer should have come home with your student.

Big thank you's go to Ms. Chris G and her husband for making our Discovery Zone for the ELC playground. They made these over the summer for all of the preschool students to enjoy. The students love using these everyday.

You may have noticed that the automated phone calls have begun! Please call if your student is going to be out sick so we are able to mark that and save you from the automation :-)

Don't forget The Meadow Farms Fall Fundraiser is here! The end date of Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

We are fortunate to have an incredible group of volunteers who run our PTO. Please consider joining the PTO and even if you can't make the commitment to join, we hope you'll attend as many of our monthly meetings as you can.

The annual Harvest night will be occurring on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 6pm in the school cafeteria. We are asking for voluntary student contributions for two baskets to be raffled off. ELC's themes are Time 4 Bed and Ready 4 Kindergarten.

Students may contribute an item that is related to theme or they may contribute a few dollars towards the purchase of the item. Again contributions are voluntary and appreciated.

Please send in your contribution in Friday October 21st to ensure adequate time to assemble the baskets. Proceeds from the raffle of the baskets help to defer the cost of field trips and many special programs for the Thacher/ ELC students. A bin will be outside the ELC office during Welcome Back Night on October 12, 2022 if you would like to drop it off then.
