LH Rather Junior High
Monday March 6th Bonham competed at the Cooper Junior High Bulldog Relays.
In the 7th grade as a team we placed 7th with 27 points. Ryder Ruiz finished 4th in the 2400m run with a time of 10:40.51.Tyler Whitman ran a 28.68 for 4th in the 200m dash and Ethan Kirby finished 6th in the 200m dash with a time of 29.74. Damazio Martinez placed 4th in the 800m run with a time of 2:44.04. The 4x100m relay finished 6th with a time of 54.78 (Christian Hodge, Cy Cochran, Ethan Kirby, Eli Compton), and the 4x200m relay finished 5th with a time of 1:56.76 (Christian Hodge, Cy Cochran, Tyler Whitman, Eli Compton).
In field events Gaven Sledd scored 5th in the shot put with a distance of 30'-3 1/2" and 6th in the discus with a throw of 68'3". Tyler Whitman finished 6th in the triple jump with a jump or 28'10". Eli Compton scored highest for the 7th grade boys in field events in high jump with a jump of 4'6".
The 8th grade boys team finished with a point total of 49 putting them in the 4th for the meet. In the 100m dash Brian Brakefield finished 2nd with a time of 12.79 while Colton Conallis finished 5th in the same event with a time of 13.13. Conallis also scored a 3rd place finish in the 200m dash stopping the clocks at 27.06. Edwin Aguilar ran a 1:04.72 in the 400m dash to finish in 5th overall. Ryan Cross finished 5th in the 300m hurdles with a 51.99. Emmanuel Flores finished 6th in the 800m run with a time of 2:38.09. In the relays Bonham took 3rd in the 4x100m relay with a time of 51.38 (Colton Conallis, Brian Brakefield, Hayden Webb, Ryan Cross).
In field events Hayden Webb won the discus with a throw of 117'11" (2nd was 94'6") and finished 5th in shot put with a distance of 36'2". Ayden Wanner finished out the scoring with a distance of 89'2" in the shot put.

BHS Baseball
On Saturday, February 18, we hosted our first Alumni game on the turf. We had over 30 Bonhi Alumni come out and participate in the game. It was really fun to see some guys that can still swing it.
We opened the season at Community High School in our 1st weekend tournament. We played games against all 4A schools going 1-2 on the weekend with a win vs Greenville.
I believe it has been at least eight years since we last hosted a baseball tournament. With our new turf facility brings back our annual tournament. This season we co-hosted with Bells High School. Together we hosted 13 teams over three days. Due to weather all games were hosted at Bonham on Friday. Below are the teams that participated in our tournament.
We receive numerous compliment on our new facility over the weekend. Your Purple Warriors went 0-2-1 on the weekend.
We participated in the Red River Bash in our 3rd weekend tournament. This tournament was originally set to be played at Whitesboro HS and Madill HS. Due to weather all games scheduled for Whitesboro HS where moved to Bonham High School. We went 2-1 on the weekend with wins over Ardmore High School and Dickson High School from OK. Sophomore, Cy Parker picked up is first varsity win on the mound against Ardmore.
Last week we opened district play against Bells High School. On Tuesday, 3/14, Bells took game one, 6-1. Bouncing back on Friday, 3/17, we won game 2 on a walk off single by Darian Yarborough scoring JayDon Ross. Brae Gorman picked up the win on the mound throwing 7 innings only give up 1 hit and striking out 7. Our JV Warriors lost to Bells on Tuesday 10-9 and again on Friday 8-0.
We would like to thank our Admin and School Board once again for our beautiful facility we have. To date we have hosted 33 games on our field this season. The picture below was taken by Bonhi Alumni Corey Hartwell during our game last Friday evening.
We have added some signage to our OF wall in honor of three men that graduated from Bonham High School and then went on to play Major League Baseball.

Junior, Darian Yarborough received the Jake Shockley State Farm Player of the Week.
2021 graduate, Tanner Reaves commits to Louisiana State University. Tanner is currently at Blinn Junior College. LSU is the number one Division 1 baseball team in the country.
2021 graduate, Trystan Mallory received conference Pitcher of the Week award at Austin College.
