Speech and Debate Interest Meeting
Prosper ISD has a robust speech and debate program with multiple state medalists and national qualifiers. Your student's participation in speech and debate could truly alter their future trajectory for the better. Research has shown that students in speech and debate tend to have higher GPA, test scores, higher success in college and career and more happiness in life as an adult.
Being a part of Speech and Debate in Prosper ISD means being a part of a team that teaches communication life skills that will be beneficial for life.
Please join us on Monday, February 5th at the RHHS cafeteria at 6:30pm for an interest and informational meeting.
CTE Interview Day
As we continue to strive for excellence in preparing our students for the real-world challenges they will face, we are excited to announce an opportunity for you to play a crucial role in their development.
Our Career and Technical Education (CTE) department is organizing mock interviews for our students, providing them with a valuable opportunity to enhance their interview skills and gain confidence in a professional setting. To make this experience even more meaningful, we are reaching out to our wonderful parent community to request your support as volunteers for these mock interviews.
We believe that your unique experiences and insights will contribute significantly to the authenticity of the interviews. Your involvement will not only help our students practice and refine their interview techniques but will also expose them to a diverse range of professional perspectives.
Details of the Mock Interview Session:
Date: Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22, 2024
Time: 8:45am - 11:45 a.m. & 12:45 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.
Location: Prosper High School Library
What We Need from You:
Volunteer your time to conduct mock interviews with our students.
Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their interview skills.
Share your professional experiences and insights.
If you are available and willing to participate, please fill out the attached sign-up sheet by February 15. We will have half-day options available for each day that are scheduled from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-4 p.m. You can choose all four options, or only one, but we do ask that if you choose to volunteer, you commit to the full time of the slots for which you register. We understand that everyone has busy schedules, so any time you can spare will be highly appreciated.
Your support is invaluable to us, and we believe that together, we can make a significant impact on our students' journey toward a successful future. Thank you for considering this opportunity, and we look forward to working with you to empower our students.

Counselor's Corner
National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.
Professional school counselors are certified, experienced educators with a master's degree in guidance and counseling.
Counselors work in professional partnerships with teachers and support personnel to foster an educational system where students can realize their true potential.
School counselors are actively engaged in helping students:
examine their abilities, strengths, interests and talents;
guide their academic and career planning;
focus on positive ways to enhance students' social/personal, educational and career development;
work in partnership with parents as they encounter the challenges of raising children in today's world; and
work with teachers and other educators to provide an educational system where students maximize their potential and set healthy, realistic and optimistic aspirations.
As all educators focus their efforts on improving academic achievement for all students, it is important that we recognize school counselors for their continuing efforts in reducing barriers to learning and in providing the support necessary for all students to achieve at the highest level.
School Counselors:
are here for students. They listen, support, and advise.
