Letter from the Principal
A new start to a New Year! Our next semester will go by faster than the first. This is the time of year when our students really show progress. They understand the concept of school and great gains in learning can take place. Please help this occur by insuring your child has regular attendance. We hope you will be proud of what they accomplish.
As we shared in a letter before Winter Break--our Head Start and Child Care classrooms at both BBEC and Sunnyside were under the mandate from the Office of Head Start requiring that staff and students wear masks. Due to a stay filed against this mandate in a Louisiana Court--we will not require masks until the outcome of the legal challenge is resolved through the courts. We will keep families informed if there are any changes to our policy.
Please remember that BBEC Staff and Office communicate through two digital platforms--our Program Facebook page and through Talking Points. If you don't have Talking Points, consider down-loading the app to receive the most updated announcements from school.
Bright Beginnings grant requires that we receive in-kind support from our community that exceeds 25 % of our total grant. If parents and family members attend our events or complete the monthly calendar activities--we are allowed to claim that as an in-kind donation. Please continue to do these things to help us meet our in-kind responsibility. Also, IT IS FUN!
As always—thank you to all of our families for giving us the gift of your students! We are going to have a great New Year.

Social Media and YouTube Safety
When children are watching ANY content on YouTube, YouTube Kids app is available to download, set up safety controls, and monitor what your children are watching using the approved content only setting. There are shows and content that continue to pop up in connections to child friendly shows that children can click on, or shows and episodes that seem popular that can be harmful to a child. Please consider putting safety features in place whenever possible as one step step towards online safety. Let's work together to do what's best for our Bright Beginnings Family.
"It's our job to keep it safe, it's your job to help us."
