HHS students competed at the Regional DECA Competition on January 28 at Nissan Stadium. HHS DECA had 32 role-play competitors advance to the State Competition that will be held in Chattanooga on March 5-7.

Portland High School FBLA competed at Region 3 during the FBLA Regional Conference in Clarksville, TN, on January 27. Portland HS had 18 student competitors and came home with 13 winners. PHS also received the Silver Award for Membership. The following winners will advance to the State Conference in Chattanooga to take on competitors from across the state of Tennessee. GHS Greenhouse Management has plants growing in the greenhouse for its April Greenhouse Sale. Plants have germinated and they have planted the following: 10 variety of tomatoes, 5 varieties of peppers, Geraniums, Begonias, Zucchini, Chamomile, Cactus, Zinnias, Marigolds, and more!
Agriscience classes at GHS are helping once again with the hanging floral baskets for the city of Gallatin with the help of Sumner County Extension.

CTE In the News...
BHS Electric Vehicle Design Challenge
GHS Criminal Justice Students Compete
On Friday, February 14, ten students from the Gallatin High School Criminal Justice Club participated in a Criminal Justice competition at Volunteer State Community College. Schools from Davidson County were also present, where everyone competed in ten different categories. This included CSI, DUI, Appellate Court Argument, Trivia, Firearms Simulator, Job Interview, Radio Traffic, Domestic, Traffic Stops, and Felony Traffic Stops.
GHS Criminal Justice Club students finished the competition 1st overall. They placed 1st in the following categories: Trivia, Job Interview, CSI, Traffic Stop, and Radio Communication. They also placed second in DUI, Domestic, Simulator and Felony Traffic Stops.
