Providence Hall Elementary IB reflection opportunity!
As PYP learners we are always reflecting and evaluating to continue our growth. This year we are taking a close look at our IB standards and practices and how we implement them here at the elementary. Parents, students, and teachers are all important parts of our learning community, so the more feedback we can get, the better!
This survey covers a LOT of our procedures and practices, since everything we do here is related to the IB. To encourage participation, we're going to have a little competition.... The two classes that have the MOST responses (one from K-2, one from 3-5) will get a SURPRISE VISITOR to their classroom. I don't want to give anything away, but this is a survey about how we as PATRIOTS learn and grow...
The survey will be open from now until the end of January, so there is PLENTY of time to take and to encourage others to do it, too! The link to the survey can be found here-
What's for Lunch?
Hello Parents,
This month is all about Responsibility! It is something that many of our students hear a lot about so it was exciting to dive deeper into it for each grade level,
1st Grade - Students learned how to act responsibly with our feet, hands, voices, eyes, ears, and eyes.
2nd Grade - Students learned to be a responsible classmate as we discussed how we can be responsible communicators with one another.
Attached below are the Respect and Responsibility songs. My first and second graders love these songs and asked me to send them home to you so that they can listen to them outside of school.
Responsibility Song - https://youtu.be/p1JvUvYEXdY
Respect Song - https://youtu.be/cSysT5_2xqA
3rd Grade - Students learned about how to be responsible flexible thinkers and how we can use responsible words and actions in any situation.
4th Grade - Students learned about how organization and responsibility connect and how being organized can help us be successful. We brainstormed worst case (not being organized) and best case scenarios (being organized) to contrast how organization plays a role in helping us to be responsible and successful.
5th Grade - Students learned about how we can make responsible goals which are TOP Goals. TOP Goals help us to better achieve our goals by accounting for obstacles we may face and a plan to overcome them so that we can reach our target.
