I want to encourage everyone to stay aware of our 6 Core Health Practices as we head into these final months of school as we had a positive case reported last week and a positive case reported this week. These include daily symptom screening, maximizing social distancing where possible, face coverings, limited shared supplies, frequent hand washing/sanitizing, frequent sanitizing of high touch areas. Working together on 100% compliance of these practices will help us continue to mitigate the spread.
I also want to encourage everyone to vote in our Student Council elections that open on Wednesday morning. See the ballot and more details below.
It's a busy week here at FWAFA with lots of performances and art to enjoy! The National Art Honor Society Show went up last week. Don't miss the video that students made highlighting the show. There's a link in this newsletter. The Happiest Pets on Earth, a show written and directed by our very own fabulous elementary theatre teacher Rebecca Magnus, will be emailed to grades 3-6 families on Wednesday, and our high school theatre and musical theatre show And Now... The 70s! streams on the website starting on Thursday, April 1. Don't miss any of FWAFA Fabulous-ness!
Friday is a school holiday. Enjoy the long weekend!
Creatively yours,
Dr. Jackson

National Art Honor Society Art Show
The National Art Honor Society Show is up in our gallery and the student work from members of the art honor society is impressive!
The President of our school chapter, Avery TeSelle, and the Secretary Emma Howell share highlights of the work featured in the show in this video. The video was filmed and edited by fellow student Miles Baker. Here's a link to the video:
Theatre in Our Schools Month
Why ducks??
The rubber duck has become the favored mascot for Thespian troupes across the nation! Thespians celebrate friendships and fun with duck buddies at festivals from Washington to Florida, New York to California, and all points in between! So when FWAFA Thespians brainstormed to highlight Theatre in Our Schools Month (TIOSM), what else was there but ducks!? On March 25, the TIOSM Committee hid nearly 200 ducks throughout the school. The student who collected the most ducks by the end of the day on March 26th would be awarded a prize.
Congratulations to FWAFA 6th grader Kolby Hribar who collected the most ducks for Theatre in Our Schools Month Duck Hunt! Kolby won a $50 VISA Gift Card, courtesy of FWAFA Thespians Troupe 6391!

PTSO Family Ambassadors Needed for 2021-2022 School Year!
WANTED! PTSO Family Ambassadors for 2021-2022
It’s that time of year where the PTSO needs volunteers to help welcome new families to our school. We are looking for parents who will serve as a point of contact for a group of new families in each grade level to answer questions and help assist with their transition into FWAFA. We have a unique culture at FWAFA and we want new families to feel welcomed and be prepared for a great start. First impression is everything!
We will need six to eight Ambassadors for third grade (if you have an elementary student, you can help with this, or if you have an older student AND an incoming third grader), and one to two Ambassadors for other grade levels.
Expectations of a FWAFA Family Ambassador:
· Send a nice welcome email to your group
· It is optional to meet as a group (via Zoom or in person if restrictions lift)
· Be the face of FWAFA
· Be available to answer questions or help point them in the right direction
· Meet and Greet them at the Ice Cream Social for new families (in August)
Please consider this opportunity to welcome a new family. If you are interested, for grades 3-6, please email Jeannine Miner j9miner@gmail.com, for grades 7-12 Natoya Walker Alee nwalkeralee@yahoo.com. Please be sure to let us know what grade level you prefer to represent. We are so grateful for our amazing community of volunteers!
