Transfer 101 Meeting
Licensed Staff Members,
Due to the inclement weather days, please note the change of date for the Transfer 101 Meeting below.
It’s that time of year again! All transfer requests need to be submitted by March 1, 2024 through Google Docs.
Per our Licensed Professional Agreement–Voluntary Transfers Between Buildings
A voluntary transfer between buildings is one that is initiated and requested by the employee. Unit members may submit a written transfer request for the following year to the Human Resources Department by March 1. The District shall consider transfer requests and notify unit members by May 1. When an opening occurs after May 1, the District will consider unit members with a pending transfer request prior to filling the position. Transfer requests expire August 15. No hires from outside the bargaining unit, including interns, will take place until all in-District transfer requests have been considered, except in the case of hard-to-fill positions. Hard-to-fill positions are those for which there are no in-district transfer requests. Temporary employees are not eligible for voluntary transfer, but may be considered for vacancies pursuant to this article.
This is your annual opportunity to request consideration for a voluntary transfer to another school or assignment, as well as instructions for requesting a leave of absence, and decreased or increased FTE. The Google Document links provide you access to the required forms. Once you have filled out the document and hit “send” it will be submitted to HR. Remember that part of the process is informing your supervising administrator of your request.

Technology Services Updates
Uptick in Phishing Emails
We saw a huge spike in incoming phishing emails over this holiday weekend. If you are not expecting an email, do not click on links, open attachments, provide login information, or correspond with email addresses contained in the message. Be especially cautious during holidays and busy times as you are more likely to be targeted during these times. This video provides a helpful overview of common tactics.
Paging, Bells & AV Support Tickets
Reminder- Technology Services is the first line of support for paging, bells, and all audiovisual systems in classrooms, gyms, libraries and commons spaces. Please contact Technology Services by calling the help desk or submit a ticket if you need support for these systems. For more information on obtaining support with the paging system, please see the Bells/Paging support guide.
Phone System Update
The new phone system has been installed at all district sites. All numbers associated with the old phone system will no longer work. Tech Teach Grow
Tip of the Week
Our weekly TECHTIPS series offers tailored tech integration suggestions for educators in HSD. This edition highlights a new feature that simplifies the process of excusing assignments, thereby increasing grading flexibility. Now, teachers can conveniently manage student assessments by accessing the "Grades" section, identifying the student and assignment, and selecting the "Excuse" option from the three-dot stack. This addition streamlines the grading workflow, offering educators an effective means to monitor and manage student progress, ultimately contributing to increased grading flexibility.
